That would kinda make sense, since it apparently doesn’t recover health, and the shopping cart shows that they’re willing make his assists unique attacks. That would be pretty cool.
Hm. Do we know if his zombie toss has super armor like in TvC? I just watched a TvC video of Frank and his zombie throw goes straight through Ryu’s Shinku Hadoken. And doe the shopping cart assist otg/can it be used as a regular move?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s a broom, not a sledgehammer.
Maybe it changes depending on what his level is.
Except it’s supposed to be a broom at level two, and it does look a bit like a sledgehammer.
I thought he didn’t use the broom in any of his normals. The thing is huge when he stabs with it. Almost as big as the paddlesaw. That doesn’t look like a broom.
In the IGN walkthrough, I am 98.46% sure that Seth calls it a broom. And it looks like a broom.
EDIT: Seth calls it a broom about two minutes in here. It’s Lv. 3, but I don’t think he would transition from a sledgehammer to a broom.
EDIT 2: Actually, never mind. I was thinking about that move where he jabs the opponent several times. The sledgehammer move sounds different.
Oh hm. I should go watch that again.
My current ‘team on paper’ is similar. I’m running Amaterasu in the anchor slot with Cold Star assist since I’m fairly sure it’ll get the job done for combo extending. My ‘cover fire’ assist will be any of:
Strange (Daggers of Denac or Bolts)
Dr. Doom (Plasma Beam, trying not to use him to avoid Complete, Doomal, Saturation though)
Taskmaster (Horizontal Arrows)
Trish (Low Voltage)
Arthur (Daggers)
Chris ‘Chuck Greene colors’ Redfield (Gun Fire)
Most of them seem like they can DHC fairly easy off of Frank, which is a fine bonus.
Is Frank West’s voice actor in UMvC3 the same one from the first Dead Rising?
I don’t think so. Frank was younger in DR1, he didn’t sound as gruff as this Frank does, though very close. I wonder if they really are the same…
Sounds like him to me. Can’t imagine why they’d get his original voice in for Off The Record and then not in UMvC3. Pretty much defies all sense.
It is. T.J. Rotolo voices Frank West in Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, and in this game.
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was the only time he didn’t voice Frank.
Didn’t someone different voice his ‘Fantastic’ in DR1 for no good reason? I remember reading something silly like that.
In TvC you actually had to summon a zombie, then grab it. He doesn’t have armor but it counts as grabbing another player,so he just became invincible for the duration of the throw.
I doubt that’s the case here, since he now automatically grabs a zombie from the background.
Anyone know if the zombie SUUMOOOH throw is actually comboable from anything? Seems like a rather useless move to me the more I think about it: hella long startup, mediocre range, bad recovery… Hoping there is some saving grace to this move.
Sumoh throw? The Power Push zombie summon? Or the Giant Swing one?
The Giant Swing one. I’ve just been calling it the SUMOH throw since frank says that every damn time he hurls one!
But he says “So long!”
Thing about that summon is up close, even if you pushblock it Frank will still most likely be safe since the zombie is tossed at them pretty fast. It’s probably just for up-close pressure (Add an assist <3), and if it has armor, which I hope it does, you might be able to pull tricks with it midscreen.
You can bet he’ll be able to combo into and off of it somehow, though. We found ways for a lot of things in vanilla, and it doesn’t really have that high startup and the recovery is low enough it seems. It has different startup/recovery for different strengths I think…if not, then it seems to be by level. He started swinging it faster at one point in a video than he had before.
that makes so much more sense…
I’ll scour the videos and watch the zombie throws and see how the recovery time is on them vs frank’s level.
