I've covered wars y'know - Frank West thread

Gah, my bad. The new red fireball I mean.

Oh, okay.

I hope his camera nullifies projectiles. Could help his approach.

You can actually combo from his OTG camera shot into the Weapons Rush hyper in the corner. It happens around 1:40 in this gameplay clip…

I think it’s more likely you’re going to see the pie-throw and baseball bat swing be his solutions for this; the first is a true projectile, and the bat reflected things in TvC; hopefully it still does here.

I have the impression that the item throw is a command normal. When Seth was showing off his Paddlesaw normals, he threw an item.

Seems like once you get the dodge move Frank’s mobility goes way up. Also seems to work like Cap’s and Felicia’s in that it has some good invuln and excellent crossup potential. Getting in at first seems like it might be pretty hard, though…

El Maiz: It may well be. Command normals can still count as projectiles and interact with other projectiles though. Or are you bringing up something about its status as a command normal that I’m not immediately understanding? (It’s entirely possible; I’ve seen other discussions where “It’s not a Special” made all the difference in the world due to another game/engine rule)

I know, but I was just thinking about the item toss and that it seemed to be a command normal to me.
Also, that would make it cancelable into specials, most likely. That could help him get over to throw out a zombie or something.

I’m not sure it’d be that hard. You only need to get to level 2 to start Abeling around, and that only requires 5 PP (5 combo hits). Tag them with an assist or something and boom, roll mixups ahoy.

I don’t even think you’d need to get in. If it ignores projectiles, you just hit anyone who tries to keep you out.

Seems like the way he will need to be played very cautiously at lvl1, pestering with projectiles and the slide so you can land some photographs. Seems like a good way to get to lvl 2 would be TAC or a multi hitting assist you can combo into the picture. There’s also tag in combos, like after a gravity squeeze you could tag him in and otg with camera into super. Can also coax people into jumping with projectiles and cancel into servbot super and get an otg camra with assist into a full combo into another camera.

The plunger stab is with quarter.circle.forward+L
The baseball bat that causes wallbounce is quarter.circle.forward+M
and the hammer that causes ground bounce with height depending on your level is quarter.circle.forward+H

DP.forward+attack is the roundhouse kick, one for low, middle, and feint

Half.circle.back+attack is the zombie swing and throw

Charge.back then forward+attack is walking.zombie.shuffle that grabs them on hit for a few moments depending on strength used.

Just pressing forward+H throws an item, pies, OJ containers, dependant on the level.

down,down+S is the wine chug
fireball+S is camera

Think that’s everything.

Edit: Ah yes, the roll

Atk+S to do a barrel roll

What about the roll?

So that’s how the PP work? They’re based on your combo size? Wow, you could easy go up a few levels with one big combo then. So now it just boils down to getting in that first hit.

In that frank west reveal trailer (46 seconds in), the camera eliminates ALL the projectiles on the screen. Storm’s whirlwind is actually multiple projectiles that continue to advance until it hits something, but the camera just kills all the projectiles at once. Neat.

Darn. Zombies are blockable and are charge moves. And have slow startup. Don’t seem that great.

Anyone know if QCF H is overhead?

Also, I think that they picture killing Storm’s whirlwind was just them vanishing when she got hit.

Yea it might not deal with projectiles that stay out when the character is hit like sentinel bombs. The axe being overhead would be nice as he really needs as much as he can get in lvl1.

Also, the charm zombies are on a very short charge. There have been times I’ve wanted to just throw something with forward+H after a block or just walking backwords for a second and wound up getting the heavy slow startup zombie instead.

If you get it in your mind you want to chuck zombies, you can do so fairly rapidly.

That’s nice. Do they have good projectile durability? (If any at all)?

Ahh, true. I didn’t think they went away when she got hit.

Hooray for Jill’s triumphant return to MvC3. For reals this time.

I’ll have to look into that next time I get a chance. Sadly, most of his specials are oh the meh side so I don’t use them that often once I found out how to do them.
Their use becomes more important with levels and wether or not he is the last man standing
