I’m really considering putting frank west on my team, but it really depends on if he can use his camera as an assist to level up. If that’s the case he’d make a pretty good 2nd or anchor in my opinion

The solution to getting to level 5 is clearly long long Dante combo to TAC to Frank air combo with plunger and camera OTG. Boom, level 5.

Wait, so if he levels up as an assist, say you do a forty hit combo into TAC with Frank doing a 10 hit air combo before his camera OTG. You call Frank’s assist after twenty hits, giving him twenty XP. Then the camera OTG at the end of the combo. You’ve done a combo of fifty hits, but only thirty since the last picture. For the second camera shot, do you get fifty XP or thirty? If it’s the former, you essentially get 70 XP for a fifty hit combo.

How can he level up as an assist if he doesn’t have a camera assist?

where was it said he can level up to 5? Seth specifically said he can level to 4 in the tutorial vid. Unless it’s Seth being Seth and not giving us the juice.

I thought he had a camera assist. If we knew he didn’t then why would we still be talking about whether it levels him up?

“Meter builder”? Also yeah, his item toss is one of the only moves I haven’t written down yet. Still need to gather all weapons he uses and when. If anyone knows something I haven’t written, yell at me!

(For example, the green butted item he has. Cane with emerald? Green plunger? Really, really awkward sex toy!? More on this soonTM.)

I believe PP gain is based off of the number of current hits in a combo so yeah, you’d be getting yourself 70 PP for a 50-hit combo.

Personally I want to run Frank on point just so I can lab it up and figure out level 1-4 or 1-5 combos.

Also, OP should be changed. Frank West doesn’t gain eXperience Points, he gains Prestige Points.

I’d assume similar to Morrigan and Amaterasu, pops in and gives you ~1/4 of a combo gauge.

If you base your gameplay off aerial exchanges you already are gonna lose. Also who’s NOT gonna hold down for exchange as down is the ONLY way to build meter. Up is a tad more damage 5%?. Left and right take 1/2 a meter off your opponents bar but does not build for you. If you wanna take bar from me for a left/right exchange go right ahead I’ll build that meter back but I almost 95% of the time will be holding down and S for exchanges. No way I’m giving my opponents a full free meter.

edit: p.s. just re-read and thought you were talkin about normal meter lol nvm but actually i’ll leave the post as it still has value because people need to start thinking about how air exchanges are not gonna be as effective in ultimate for free meter

So he has two assists that could be used for lockdown with MODOK. That’s a good sign for me.

You would think I would catch on to that.

If up TAC functions the same as before, it boosts your damage to 150%.

Also don’t forget that down TAC burns your ground-bounce which is key to a lot of extended combos.

If Frank’s Photo Camera have a large hitbox, I hope it stuns air-borne (air dashers) long enough as in Wesker’s gunshot in MvC3. Would atleast give him a shot against rush down characters since in Lvl.1 he would have almost haggar-like struggle against zoning either ways, might as well have some form of close-mid defence options.

I think he’ll do better than Haggar because he has projectiles even in level 1.

I honestly think he can turn out pretty well. Maybe Frank/MODOK/Doom will be good.

It does look like to could interrupt people trying to throw projectiles at him.

Does it count as a projectile? He may be able to hit people through their projectiles until he gets to level 2 and rolls.

Also, do we know the commands for his moves? I hope his kick isn’t still an charge move.
So he has:
Picture (Command normal?)
Plunger/Bat/Axe (I’m guessing same motion) QCF?
Zombie/Zombie throw/Shopping cart (Same motion?) SRK?
All three kicks(QCB?)
roll (Down down attack like in TVC?)
drink (Down down S?)

SOmeone probably already figured them out.

This isn’t even close to 0 stun. TvC camera shot had like 0 stun, haha.

It has a good amount of hitstun if you hit an airborne opponent with it, or OTG. But I think hitstun deterioration is just going to eat it alive like it does Samurai Edge at the moment.

Think that’s a cancel or just really low recovery on his dive? It was very low in TvC but wasn’t cancelable.

(By the way, around 0:56 proves that the camera does do damage, even with damage scaling. You can see Thor’s health go down just a tiny bit when he snaps a photo.)

I think his roll just has really fast recovery time.
