IIRC its a 1-frame move so it’s all about timing. You’re best bet is to find some type of visual or audio clue. I can usually mash one out although the timing is still the same. It’s near impossible online.
If you can master it, its not THAT bad of a move, it’s just that the situations to use it are pretty rare. If the opponent is very low on health after one of his qcb specials, instead of doing fireworks and probably having to spend a meter on Million Dollars afterwards you could do Crazy Dance which does nearly twice the damage of Fireworks. There’s also gonna be times where you just dont have the meter and while fireworks will push the opponent back, Crazy dance still has the better dmg output. And not sure how useful this is, but Crazy Dance connects after Revolver even if you used a ground bounce already. It really makes me wonder how much more we would see of Crazy Dance if it didnt have such strict timing.
Well yeah that’s what I’m trying to use it for, while i still can :’{. Never liked harpoon dhc glitches, and I was always ending combos with jet stream so I figured if I can get that consistently would be better.
So what combos can I get off a air-to-air j.:h:? Usually I just do: land :l::h::s:sj:m:double jump:h:Killer Bee, Reverb Shock xx fireworks. If I’m in the corner, I’ll relaunch after Killer bee into a single j:h: Skydance, Reverb Shock xx Fireworks. I’m pretty sure you might be able to get some extra damage if you go into DT, relaunch after Killer Bee, and do a vortex or j:h: into vortex but the timing is strict and messing up the motion causes an accidental TAC.
The timing is pretty tight. You need to input the Acid Rain as soon as you land and do it really quick. If the volcano’s not connecting, your acid rain is too slow.
Speaking of tight timing, is twister and volcano the only moves Dante can get off an airthrow in XF? I tried Cold Shower but it seems too slow especially the :dp: for the twister and volcano has to be done while he’s falling.

after the sky dance’s last hit whiffs, do acid rain->volcano (jump cancel)->call sentinel->sky dance (sentinel hits)->j.S
You now have your ground bounce back and haven’t used your wall bounce in the process. Timing isn’t too difficult (I find it easier than the wall bounce skydance+sentinel combo anyway).
Haven’t tried it midscreen yet
Also, for anyone using Dante/Zero (Ryuuenjin), you can do cold shower (call zero)->acid rain->S->j.S in the corner. It’s a lot easier than bold canceling stinger into acid rain, and it doesn’t use your wallbounce (I know it doesn’t use the wall bounce if you time your assist call just right, but that’s really hard to do)
My usual Dante BNB, starting from a Disruptah assist - teleport has basically just been the day 1 combo into TAC to Mag into DHC glitch into Dante OTG stuff. Simple TOD usually. But a friend of mine came up with Dante Doom(beam) Akuma, and I actually like the team a LOT. Only problem is since I love the TAC into Grav Tempest, I find myself not quite sure what to do when the beam-teleport shenanigans connect. Between the damage scaling on Doom beam and my lack of ability to do the really fancy stuff, I’m not expecting to TOD every time, but can anyone think of a solid 700k+ without XF (1-3 meter is fine) that Dante can do off of a landed Plasma Beam (I don’t think he can do the standard Stinger BC Volcano stuff off it)? EVen if it includes TAC to Doom I don’t mind that, but figure it’s prob not the best way to maximize damage <shrug> Thanks!
PS. I cant get to training now, but if I were to GUESS, I’m thinking off the beam one could probably Cold Shower - Shredder, sj Hammer, etc. But not sure, having tatsu left, where to go from there, if that even is the way to go.
@Guile: most of the time MH xx cold shower - prop shredder is a consistent confirm off an airborne opponent.
With the beehive nerf I wanna see if something like this works for BnB stuff in Ultimate. I’m going to try this at the next Ultimate NorCal, but I hope S-Kill or someone doesn’t take note and patch out Skydance properties.
Can we have a list of consistent ways to get the skydance whiff hard KD state? And if it’s char specific.
The one’s I know off are after proper shredder, jc.teleport into skydance. Corner stinger BC skydance (have trouble timing this one) and just saw rogueyoshi’s off killerbee air string. Not to mention the many ways using assists…
