I didn’t see this on the main page, but what’s a good Dante combo for if a Tatsu lands? I’m guessing it starts with an sMH xx Cold Shower? I can’t get to training, so am not sure if a Prop Shredder off said Cold Shower would get us a full launch or not (seems like after a certain amount of HSD Prop no longer launches, or maybe it’s something else doing that?). Anyway, I’ll stop guessing and see what the experts have to say. For assist reference, I’d either have some Wolverine assist (the DP?), no assist because Wolverine died, or Magneto beam if I opt for Magnus over Logan. Thanks!

That’s probably what I would go for but Nini said something before about how starting with cold shower xx prop because it kills the dmg of your combo. Ah here it is

It’s his bnb for after DHC glitching but I dont see why it wouldnt work off Tatsu. You’d probably just have to hit that j.S before Tatsu knocks them down.

I do (Teleport J.H)>5M>5H>5S>Charge Shot>Prop off a Tatsu. There’s a way more damaging variant but it’s harder to confirm and requires shot loops and really strict timing.

Not sure if I should ask this in here or in the general discussion thread but what mix-ups/cross-ups should I be using on a incoming character? Usually (since it would be their second or third character) I do Acid Rain -> teleport j.s -> XF combo to win the match/leave them with one character but it seems as though my success rate is usually boosted by the crappy online.

Anybody got an idea what to do off of a random distrupah assist? The only thing I have been doing is going in to day one stuff.

That’s basically what I do, but because I’m aiming to TAC to Mag, grav tempest DHC glitch, the day 1 is an easy TOD, especially in the corner. My fancy pants skills are limited, so midscreen sometimes I’ll need a 3rd meter to finish the job. Sometimes not though, it’s pretty strong even at its easiest level.

Off hits against a low airborne opponent you can MH cold shower(3HHH) xx prop shredder (S) then go into the bold cancel BnB.

I wish we could get an actual changelog for ultimate. I keep hearing that hammer has lost all its invincibility and then I hear that it only lost it’s start-up invincibility.

I can’t even picture if hammer is a good move (outside of combos) without any invincibility. Guess it depends on the size of the hitbox. I guess it would still be useful to those who would use it to tack on an extra count for “how many overheads are comin’ before I land?” type mixups. I should use those more.

Edit: new question so as not to double post: ive seen PR ROg, w/ Wolvie, add into his OTG combo goodness something where he does the DP assist during a Volcano. Is that just basically a way to throw in a few extra pixels of damage? Or is there some more important function? And am I correct it’s just call assist then Volcano then jS? That’s how it appears.

I think it’s just extra damage, I’ve done it with Viper (burn kick assist) before but you have to do it before the HSD gets too high or they’ll pop out. AFAIK, it also helps getting closer to the corner for OTG shenanigans.

And yeah Hammer seems almost useless outside of combos if it has lost all its invincibility. I understood why it would lose start-up though seeing as how it should be able to technically come out faster.

doesn’t Viper’s burn kick cause soft knockdown? In that case HSD wouldn’t really matter (you’d just have to make sure to not do the volcano too early).

I can’t remember what combo I used but the opponent popped out before the j.S after volcano making Dante whiff (sorta like how prop shredder whiffs/misses if used too late in a combo). It was when I was just starting to experiment though so I’m not 100% positive.

Whoo, that took time to write out (that’s Dante I guess XD). Sorry if I confused anyone reading through all that. I’m happy with getting almost 800k from my main combo, but I can’t help but feel that I’m somehow missing out on doing something other than OTG after the ground bounce off Beehive. I tried using Sky Dance after the Teleport but I’m too inconsistent at getting the last hit. Other than that is there any way to better utilize the ground bounce other than an extra otg extension?

I’ve been trying to get a more effective combo after hitting a Doom beam assist while teleporting. I normally just do day 1 stuff with: launcher > j.MMH killer bee > relaunch > j.H sky dance (without the last hit; so ground bounce is still reset) > Million Dollars (I get a bit over 400k with this)

I tried starting the same way with the video but without shot loops. I had: j.:h:, land :m::h: :dp::m: (Volcano), j.:h:, j.:qcf::m: (air play), j.:h: land :h::s:, j.:m::h: :qcf::l: (Killer Bee), :dp::m::dp::m: (Volcano xx Beehive) xx :qcf::atk::atk: (Million Dollars). With this, I get over 500k.

However, if I decide to burn my xfactor early for more damage, I can get extra damage with the first combo. I xfc cancel before the last hit of Million Dollars, then go: :d::d::s:, j.:s:, :a1: (Wesker-b), j.:s:, :df::h::h::h: (Wild Stomp) xx :f::h: (Stinger),:d::atk:+:s: (Bold Cancel) xx :d::s: (Teleport), j.:s:, :dp::m::dp::m: (Volcano xx Beehive), :qcb: :h: xx :h: (Jet Stream xx Fireworks) [This nets me over 1.1million damage which is enough to kill most characters]

Using the 2nd combo though, I end the combo at Volcano xx Beehive because I don’t have the ground bounce and I end up with around 960k. Is there a way to extend the pre xfactor combo to deal a bit of extra damage or will I just have to stick with day 1 combo into xfc for a full kill on some high hp characters?

Let’s see, we’re trying to optimize the end of the combo here. First of all, i’d recommend finishing the combo after killer bee with Jetstream fireworks for the corner carry.

From there, there’s a lot more options you can do after a million dollars XF.

First of all, instead of a simple J.S after million dollars XF, you can do a Million Carats>J.S while they’re in that weird spinny state. Kinda hard but it’s possible and it tacks on some good damage.

Second is using the wallbounce to get good damage. The wallbounce sequence allows you to do a lot more than J.S when you’re already in the corner.

Off the top of my head, good wallbounce enders without assists:

3HHHH>6H>BC>Million Carats>J.S>Whatever otg ENDER
3HHHH>6H>BC>Sky Dance groundbounce reset>Volcano>Beehive>Jetstream(kinda hard but easier in XF)
3HHHH>6H>BC>Delay Sky Dance to get the last hit to whiff and give you the abnormally long knockdown>Acid Rain>Volcano>J.S>Whatever OTG ender

The easiest IMO would be the Million Carats>J.S.

Alternatively, you can extend your pre million dollars combo with shot loops or skydance whiff into DHC glitch.

Thanks for the tips ^^ Right now though I’m stuck at the timing of million carats into j.S. I’ll be practicing that timing though. Also, I’d rather not have to learn shot loops since those are kinda hard for me and are getting taken out in Ultimate XD I’m still practicing my Acid Rain loops too lol
