One of DeeJays better combo attempts after a FA is to dash in and combo c.LP > c.MP > EX MGU > EX Double Rolling Sobat or EX Jackknife Maximum. If in the corner either cancel into his Sobat Carnval Super or the Ultra of your choice. I prefer U1 Sobat festival but both Ultras can only be used in the corner.

I disagree with the c.LP > c.MP

Not only it’s much harder to link, but with the damage radius, you’re doing slightly less damage than the c.MP > EX MGU > EX Double Rolling Sobat alone.

I always do cr.lp, cr.np cuase i have the link down and it’s easier to time to not reset them, although if i want to do a climax beat i will do just mp.

If you had a crumple, why wouldn’t you just do raw ultra.

That’s a point, I should do that.

you lose 10-12 damage and some stun, but you save an ex, and if you land another combo later that EX will equate to more than 10 damage.

I know this has been covered in other charge char forums but how do you do the dash-forward ultra?

Is this a setup for U2 away from corners?

I saw the topic on this and how to do it. I have not been able to do dash U2 with Deejay, however, I have been able to do it with U1 Guile.

Can anyone do his dash U2 100% of the time?

I was wondering this, anybody got it down to the point where they are not scared to do it oncase they muck up?

I can dash into U2 about 10% of the time (however with Guile dash into U1 works everytime).
I haven’t accomplished EX MGU, dash, U2 not even once.
I stick to using U2 in the corner or after a crumple stun.

Do the mgu, or ex mgu have invicibilites frames on startup ? I mean, can we do this on wake up to stop opponent pressing ?

Although ex mgu has some invincibility, it is a pretty bad choice for a wakeup move. It has short range, probably won’t even catch well spaced meaties. It also is a bad AA. I would definitely reccomend to stay away from it on wakeup. However it is usefuf to try ex mgu while eating a combo and anticipating that your opponent might miss a link.

For wakeup game do this:

  • EX Up Kicks <-- best option against meaty jumpins and crossups (auto corrects); beats throw attempt; but whiffs against long low meaties (like Ryu’s cr.mk)
  • EX Dread Kicks <-- not a bad option, wins with most meaties (except those with many active frames); escapes crossups; beats throw attempt
  • backdash <-- the safest option, escapes throws and short meaties; jumpins and long meaties will hit you, but in the air - disallowing a combo
  • FA, dash back cancel <-- escapes from jumpins, crossups and single meaties; loses to 2in1s (like cr.mk xx hadouken) and throws

So this Dash U2 is useless? I have never been able to do it, only with Guiles Dash U1. The timing their is just to get the motion before he ends his dash hop.

The amount of times I lose air to air trades against shoto’s is insane, is Deejay’s “hand of god” (jab) or down + L.kick in the air supposed to beat most shit ?, cause the amount of times ive had jump happy shoto’s bounce around the screen when I don’t have a Jackknife fully charged really annoys me.

It could be that jumping m.kick gets beat by almost everything and Im relying on it too much for the vortex, I find an early jumping roundhouse works well but I want something more reliable.

Air-to-air? Jump fierce beats almost everything.
