Alright so my only question is about how much memory do you guys think we need to get this? All I got is about 100MB of memory left.

potentially useful for you. Tron’s good, but she’s not the end-all be-all. You’d want to counter her with either a good assist or with an air-based strategy. Your team doesn’t really have any good chemistry (said without seeing a video) - I would expect it to have problems against any decent low tier team.

I love Tron, but I play her for Tron and will switch to Tron-A or the laughable Tron-B if it’s “true” low-tier. She’s just an interestingly designed character.

I like Tron too. But I don’t think she has any place in low tier matches,. She appears to only really be good for countering top tier assist like Psylocke and Captain commando. I think she is need in low tier teams against top tier. But she seems overpowering in low tier matches.

As far as the team I was using goes. Well I won’t be beating a good Santrax with the team for sure. And it’s not the best team, but it has some neat stuff. I have strider on point to keep people out of the air with his orders. For pressure I do numerous Strider blockstrings can in spiderman, either go for his instant overhead, or teleport. As far as Wolverine is concerned, I use his assist to go under a lot of things for a knock down, then I got for a mixup afterwards. It is a total rushdown team, and the rushdown is limited but there. However it doesn’t work when tron is backing people up.

I really hope you’re wrong, but I understand what you’re getting at. I remember when I first started playing at the arcade I kept getting owned and realized I could use Cable and just constantly beam my way to success and when they got close to me pull out my awesome-sauce Ken AAA. It was my first step up in the game from just random button-mashing fireball directions and hoping for luck.

Only thing is I really love to use the top tier teams, but I also really love to play lower tier guys(I love playing Jill, for example). In fact I think even the most hardened vets of the game probably enjoy mixing it up a bit as well.

We’ll see, though. Let’s hope I’m right and we won’t be seeing the same 5 characters every single time we try and get online. I know I for one will be mixing it up and I’m sure most people on this forum isn’t just going to play one team.

I wish there were hidden ranks, honestly. Just to attempt to match you up with people on your skill level without having a leaderboard(because leaderboards online usually always mean shit). When you let people see their ranking things get stupid.

Anyone confirm whether or not the demo this thursday will actually be online like that ONE site said, or just local matches like every other site mentioned?

you got negged because most of the above is stupid. marvel is a game established for a minute now. no, people who play marvel are not gonna just stop picking who they pick to be nice. I also dont think everyone will flock to the same characters, because the more people playing, you could argue the more diverse the game can be. plus there are other good players who dont use msp or whatever. vdo of course, zaza with the double wolverines is tight, and preppy too. im just sayin. dont sweat the technique. im sure players will be able to organize themselves to have top tier battles and low tier battles, and it wont be this all top players raping people playing with triple shotos shit, and they can utilize srk to even setup these online get togethers of low tier only, or open tier,etc…

i think the biggest thing people need to get through their heads is this is a possible setup and test for if the company might consider mvc3. if we can show the hype for this, and get them the financial results they would like. we can hopefully inspire capcom to give us another gem. there are big bucks being made off of comic movies nowadays, and a possible new version of one of the hypest and longest standing games ever, that involves some of everyones favorite comic and video game characters. shiiiiiiiiiit

Of course I’m hyped, but that is why I think three moves ahead and I am already trying campaign for MvC3, but even better than that, Marvel vs DC is more possible than peole think. We need to unify and help Capcom connect this bridge and stop hating on others.

Its not that its the fact that you keep constantly crying about how the game still isn’t rebalanced. So what big deal people kept playing the game its not like they suddenly stopped and said wow marvel sucks lets stop playing altogether.

I’m truly HYPED for this but the problem is people will never be satisfied. What it boils down to is the people who are good or at least decent wanna keep it the way it is and then who arent as good and would like more use out od the cast wanna balance it. with a large pool of charcters it is hard espically with the problems that are in marvel.

Alot of people (myself inculded) think that sales will lead to a renewal in the marvel cpacom lisecne and that will lead to mvc2, but ask urself do u really want mvc3? i mean it would be a different game with new technology and prolly alot less of the things in mvc2 and as you can see from some people reception of sf4 compared to peoples love of 3rd strike. but that doesnt mean that change isn’t always good or bad.

TLDR mvc2=MAD HYPE. Be careful what u wish for though

Top 4 in general take more skills. But Sentinel is my favorite of the top 4. I don’t think nerfing only the top 4 really helps like some people suggested. Simply because then you have Cyclops, Doom, Iron Man, Black Heart, and Dhalsim taking over. Okay maybe that’s more characters. But the tiers are pretty distant in this game to the point only nerfing top 4 actually won’t balance the game.

Same here, I loved Tron in Mega Man Legends so I naturally migrated towards her in MvC2 from day one.

People complain too much about balance. Take MSP vs Scrub. There you have one single top match with 6 different characters. It’s perfectly feasible to have those 6, IM and Cyc on the top 8 of a tournament. If Wong, VDO and some others feel like it, you may even deal with Marrow, Charlie, Omega Red, Ruby, Jill, Ken, Colossus and all that stuff.

For a game that had extremely competitive play for 9 years, this is pretty good. TvC identified it’s #1 character within weeks. So did SFIV. For MvC2 there were a few years of Cable and Doom before top players split between 3 characters as possible best in the game.

Of course in a magic world the game could be pretty balanced, but it’s very good now. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s hard for any game to keep the same 8 or so top characters competing for that long.

And I personally won’t be doing ROM on little kids who are trying to learn a hadoken. For that we have SRK, and we can use the noobs to learn new teams and even teach them stuff in the best cases.

MvC2 has a lot of possibilities for the future. A collection game, MvC3, an HD Remix. But rebalancing could seem easy and yet be the worst of them all. If ST is so simple and yet generated so much complains, imagine MvC2 with millions of possibilities in team chemistry, crazy free movement and what not.

Yeah… no. Older fighting game assets don’t use a lot of memory. MVC1 is only like 56MB. I do not see the game being anywhere close to 1GB

Capcom can publish MvC2 whenever they want. They already paid Marvel royalties to make the game back in 2000. No, they wouldn’t be suing Capcom, because Capcom can re-release this game whenever they want. They developed it and already paid Marvel in an agreement.

You’re wrong. The contract didn’t allow for re-releases. Or else Capcom would be just stupid to see used copies selling like hotcakes with prices in the hundreds on Ebay and not making a profit by launching more copies at 60 dollars a piece.
