Its official MvC2 is back with online play!

I don’t have a small man’s ego complex (like you) so I wasn’t trying to even gain any creditibility. Especailly not from HERE.

I’m not excited about this nor do I see a reason to be excited. Why what I think bothers you so damn much is mind boggling. Get off my nuts.

first to win the title Snapback King right here!

No, it’s illogical, because your opinion misses a huge part of the equation. Online play has been missing in the North American releases of this game since day one (regardless of whether networks could have handled it at that time). Furthermore, every reiteration of the game after the Dreamcast port was flawed in some way. Regardless of how many systems you have it for, and how many local arcades you play at, it does not make up for the fact that you fail to realize that the game has not had online play.

I notice that you also make the claim that XBL competition is flawed. I don’t have a 360 (PS3 for me), but you can;t honestly think that the game is going to keep it’s scrub comp for a long time, do you? Most games move from one online game to another (Playing Halo 3, then CoD4, then TF2…ect) and very few stick around to watch the game grow. These communities create themselves and filter out those who cannot handle the compeition from those who actually learn and grow the game.

Now, in the case of Marvel, you have a grown game. The community is already in place, and it is not an easy undertaking to just waltz into it and start winning. Those picking the game up for the first time are going to get pissed, and I will predict that very few are actually going to stick around to become part of the Marvel Community.

As to what I said: I know you were just voicing your opinion, and I know that there was more to it. Far be it from me to start some stupid shitty flame war over your opinion…we already have enough of that going on here recently. I was just making a joke because I thought that your succinctly put lack of enthusiasm implied a lack of comprehensive understanding of why this is such A BIG MOMENT. The hardcore community finally got what it wanted. I just felt like an equally brief statement lacking an overall explanation was appropriate…it was, and is, a joke.

I will admit I don’t have time to go to arcades as much as I did 10 years ago, and even with the strong Fighting Game scene in Dallas, I have no time to meet up with people and play. It is a huge deal to be able to come home, take a shit, play a very good games of marvel, and then go about my adult duties (heh…doody). You don’t have to like it, just as SRK does not have to like Smash or whatever other fighting abortion comes out. To each his own.

/rant

I don’t think he’s even met Jodim/Haru whatever.

his loss I guess, some people you can never make happy.

Also MvC2 can be played without having to use a DC and having the DC fry. People can throw out the garbage ports that were the PS2 and XBOX versions. People can play the game on their new consoles with new generation sticks. The game can be played on HDTVs and look nice and have no upscale lag. Game can be played widescreen.

It’s not going to look like KOFXIII, BB, or HDR but the graphic scaling process that they are using looks alright. The HD video releases look good so far. Demo out tomorrow so we can really see it on our HDTVs up close.

dibs :karate:

Im so damn hype for this!!!

it basically comes down to the simple fact that online play doesn’t excite me. I can see why some would bust a nut all over it, but i’m honestly indifferent. Online play as a whole simply makes it an old game with a big new play option.

I can only speak for myself and that’s all I’ve done.

Note that I’ve never gotten into competitive marvel, nor do I ever care to.

Tennessee: We Get Hype For No Damn Reason!!!

(explains it all…)

j/k, but your comment + your sig = LOLOLOLOLOL

We do though. ^^

Any confirmation on the IRL Stabbing achievements?

then why aren’t you hype?:bluu:

I smell a contradiction…

Thanks. That’s great news :lovin:

I’m actually hype right now. I have no idea why.

EDIT: Oh wait. IT’S FOR NO DAMN REASON AT ALL.

G:smile::smile:D must be this thread, since this is where you got hype! Maybe you finally starting to come around to this game.

Blue screens of death??

time for me to get ready…damn ill be in boot camp. yall save some online action for me.

A warning to those who are not hype:

Failure to be “hype” will result in immediate assignment to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Hype Rehabilitation Seminars

That’s just a fancy way of saying you will be beaten with hammers until the game appeals to you.

That is all

No problem with that opinion. It’s all gravy if you don’t necessarily ‘bust a nut’ over the news of MvC2 being released for Live/PSN play, but don’t ruin our premature by choking us out. That’s just plain rude.

To give you an idea of the H-Y-P-E-N-E-S-S that sweats from the glands of this BEAST OF A GAME tho, imagine:

You love playing a game.
You love learning new stuff about that game.
You get pretty darn good at that game.
You have trouble finding people to play in that game and have to usually take great means to do so.

Bummer.

Now picture this:

You post in the MvC2 forums.
You add combos and character data and team synergy comments.
You go back and forth trading ideas with people in the threads.
You go online and you play them and see what’s really good.
