I really wanted to try this out but… they haven’t mentioned even the most vague hint of attempting to re-balance it; infact it’s more to the contrary.

The main reason I didn’t look into it at first is that the whole competitive game is always the Marvel show, and in this version the game is only competitively playable with 5-6 characters max.

So I’m really disappointed if they’re leaving it as is.

Yes 1080p, 4:3, 16:9, with different options for sprites as well.

Had a look at their presentation vid. I’ll be looking to start with their proper MvC3 Sequel instead.

Bringing a classic online that the old and new players might enjoy is nice, but for me, not attempting to make improvements to a ‘re-vamped’ game with plenty of room for improvement is a cheap and lazy way of making money.

I hope other ideas for re-vamping games will follow the HDR example of balancing tweaks rather than following this.

Well, the game being online will bring new blood (not for very long) as well as people that don’t want to play the top tier exclusively. The game will still be the same, but the hype and the online will give those 40+ characters a little more face time even if it is just for casual play.

I don’t play the game but balance patch by BACKBONE would seriously fuck things up. Even if the “original version” was included you know people would default to a “remix mode.” Then you have 2 sets of people playing 2 different games.

The majority of the community has not been clamoring for a re-vamp (while I will admit that a good showing of them wanted it). What the majority of us have wanted is an online version of the game that we love…and we have been patiently waiting for damn-near TEN FUCKING YEARS. Yes, Capcom will make money off this (oh jesus god forbid). However, they are giving the Marvel Community exactly what they have been asking for since we first got the game for out Dreamcasts.

And as everyone else said, you CAN play other characters…:rolleyes:

These guys spent literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions (playing Marvel can freeze time) of hours playing and testing shit back in the day.

Once I read that they were helping with testing, I stopped worrying. Have some confidence in your fellow SRKers.

Dude it has over 50 characters… Besides, it has wnough improvement to make it worthwhile.
