It was fun and all, but lets get real for a second

Liquid repping on the Guard Crush 6 stream with dudley still right now

Is that a OS ? if you hit him, it just gives you delay enough to not use the ultra, the jump ex jet upper for ex psycho crushers is automatic…

Shoutouts to Dudley comeback potential

i would only OS with a safe jump rh. if you OS with ducking it will go under PC, chase his teleport, go under head stomp, or follow his devil’s reverse. the things you’ll still lose to are EX Scissors and U1. U2 wont hit on time.

there have been occasion where i did the ducking too early and got tagged with the tail end of PC, so timing and button strength may be an issue.

EDIT: Peru answered the question already D:

There are things Dudley can do that will beat reversals but still apply pressure even if they don’t do it. lk SSB is a very nice guess option to me on the opponents wakeup because it will beat most reversal DPs AND backdash and is safe on block. Another thing you can do is do a really late jump over them when they’re waking up. If they backdash you get a free jump-in combo. If they mp/hp DP you can punish with EX MGB.

Also there is a real safe jump thread in this forum. A really easy one is EX MGB, ducking upper, dash forwards, hold up forwards, j.hk. Safe jumps TU but not 4 framers.

I guess they’re noticing that Dudley does have some potential, he still has a lot of bad matchups and also fuck Dictator. I can’t beat him for shit.

Take that tier list for granted. I want to know the criteria and information that went into the match-up numbers because as far as we know it’s just the match-up data person’s [Flipino Champ] perspective on all the match-ups.

I want to know.

I hope nobody gives up on Dudley. I’m getting trounced routinely online, but there’s no way I’m giving up on the Gentleman Pugilist. Yeah, a win with Dudley is a hard-fought win, but it’s a win to be proud of. I’ve learned that if you’re going to play as Dudley, you have to be patient and have precise timing and technique. But I’m trying to learn.

Dudley makes me want to be a better Street Fighter player. So I’m trying to keep bad habits, such as pointless jumps and random specials, in check. It’s hard. I’m second-guessing myself all the time, hesitating, and taking punishment I shouldn’t be.

Since Day 1 of SSFIV’s release, I have played as Dudley and Dudley only, and prior to that I stopped playing SFIV because Dudley was not in it. Dudley is the ONLY character I play as and that will never change. I don’t care how many beatings I take.

So, I guess what I’m saying is: Keep the faith and stand strong with Dudley, because he deserves our support.

You almost made me cry there. I love Dudley.

I’ve tried dropping him time and time again because his limitations were really starting to bug me and yet every single time, I kept returning to Duds

I feel what you’re saying, Aerial.

Dudley truly is a special character. His refinement, his dignity, his gentlemanly manner, his elegant technique which is so beautiful to watch and so satisfying to execute: Dudley is one of a kind and is in a class of his own.

I played Dudley for the first time on Third Strike in Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and after that there was absolutely no other Street Fighter character for me.

So yeah, I’ll keep taking my beatings as I try to make my technique and execution worthy of Dudley, but I will take my beatings like a gentleman.

Hey liquid. Sense you get
to play against sabin got any tips on the dhalsim matchup? Latley my strat has been to put my stick down and go get a drink…

No tips on fighting dalshim to be honest. The best advice I would have it guess right. Also if He jumps fierce, go for ducking uppercut. Thats about it.

Instant overhead is free EX MGB but the timing is weird.

Other than that DO NOT GET PREDICTABLE ON THE METHODS YOU USE TO GET IN ON DHALSIM. Try and mix up empty jumps, Ducking, j.HP, j.MK and whatever else. And once you get in on him, try your best not to let him slip out of your fingers before you get him stunned.

Lots of sim players like to throw a yoga fire and then tag you with s.hk as you jump over it. Dudley’s j.hk counter-hits him out of it clean. However, he can hit you for free with s.hp (cr.hp? I dunno) if he waits.

Also I really like punishing whiffed limbs with s.hk xx EX MGB. Doesn’t work on like :df: :lp: though.

you can jump freely against dhalsim (not against he knee ofc) with jump mk, it beats all his far anti air stuff

I just started to pick up dudley… I didn’t play much of him in 3s… and so far, i think his combos are quite hard to execute consistently… I just spent like 2 hours doing cr.lk -> cr.mk -> mp.mgb… It probably is a question of practicing with the stick but, I think he would be extremely rewarding to play since it’s all skill and no mashed out wins… The thing is though, getting in is really damn difficult in fights… I don’t really know if I should still commit to duds or switch up to juri or something…

Stick with him for awhile. He may be hard to execute with consistently at times, but he is such a rewarding character. When you pull off that huge combo you’ve practiced 100 times, it is such a good feeling.

I echo Doodley. The rewards to leaning Dudley are great and worth the effort. Definitely stick with him. And there’s nothing prettier than a Dudley combo. So Dudley’s offense is technically satisfying as well as aesthetically pleasing.
