Issues concerning Myoungshin Fanta

Hello everyone! I’m fairly new to this site, but I’ve been wanting to get some assistance with the new joystick which I have ordered. So far, the Myoungshin Fanta seems great, and it’s very responsive when I want it to be. However, I have a set of questions about this joystick.

  1. Why is there an odd wobble whenever you gently shake the stick? Is this a normal occurrence?

  2. For some reason, the dust cover that came stock with the Myoungshin seems to keep catching on where the shaft is held. Why does it do this?

  3. Upon further inspection of the joystick itself, I noticed that one of the microswitches seemed to be slightly bent. I bought this off of FocusAttack, and even on their site, it looked like the switches were slightly bent towards the end of the switch itself. Are they supposed to be this way?

These three things concern me a ton, however I’m not the brightest when it comes to Korean sticks, since I’m new to modding arcade sticks. Thank you!

  1. Yup it’s normal. The wobble you are talking about is usually from the space between the actuator and the switches. That neutral/dead zone is relatively bigger than what you might encounter on Japanese levers.

  2. From what I guess is that there is some excess plastic from the top end of the collar gate is touching the dust cover. It’s probably just minor manufacturing concerns but it can easily be remedied by removing the excess.

  3. While I sort of see it from FA’s site, can you provide a pic? Usually they should be straightened.

If you look to the microswitch furthest to the right, to me it looks slightly bent. I don’t know the actual name of the small part, but the part which looks bent is the little switch that the actuator touches to activate the movement. The very tip it seems is slightly bent. This is what I meant, hopefully the image works. I’m new on this site, so I dunno.

I’d call it the leaf.

I see the bend. Shouldn’t be too hard to straighten it with your hand.

Thank you so much for the assistance! I’m going to attempt to do this later on, as well as fixing the dust cover on the joystick.

If you want peace of mind, you could also swap the lever from a spare Omron or Zippy switch, or replace the switch itself.
