Seeing as how RCR is my favourite game of all time, there’s no way I wouldn’t fund this.
This is an official RCR game.

i am interested.
The feels
They should of shown a lot more gameplay rather than joke around. Too many worthy kickstartes to shell out too.
I think there have been sequels to RCR, but they just weren’t good or localized.
As for the game I just hope it doesn’t make me BAAAAARRRRF. THESE GUYS ARE SICK! for trying to bring it back though.
Liked the original game but for some reason it’s not a beat 'em up that I return to very much. Would be more interested if they gave more details for the mechanics of the game.
Well, yes, River City Ransom is on the very short list of greatest video games of all time.
Damn it… i needs to clear up this month’s bills first but definitely dropping some $$ on this when able so.
This is one of the most stylish and most memorable games for me on the NES.
One of the greatest moments of my gaming life was when I found out that you could actually pick people up and use them as weapons. There’s just… something about being able to pick someone up and thrust them forward into someone’s face as if they were a garbage can, wheel, or box, and Grandslam + Body = jokes.
RCR… oh yes. I could do some stupid stuff on that game… trash can combos… triangle jump setups…
i would put in to see this redone or a sequal but some of the elements will need to be the same. im use to the characters looking like they did in RCR, world cup soccer, and super dodgeball… that reaction they have getting hit…etc. edit: ish looks fun from the vid!!
If Kickstarter are tying to take the title of “Most Prolific Wallet Rapist” away from Steam, they’ve been pulling overtime the last few weeks.
River City Pilgram Vs. The World: The Game?
Looks legit.
Ask your parents about the days when they had this system called the “Enn Eee Ess”. It was a truly wondrous time.
I agree wholeheartedly.
(…BARF!)
Damn all these GDLK classic properties coming back, but the cynical side of me is just waiting for a Bad Dudes reboot with emo brothers as the protagonists.
BARFS
RCR was a sandbox brawler, way ahead of its time. You could do all kinds of shit with the various weapons, stuff that you could never do in the more popular games. Remember riding on the tires? Kicking a crate into the enemy? Good times. I’m happy that these guys recognized how creative you could get with the weapons. I want to see what they’ll let you do!
Wow, this sure sounds familiar: RCR sequel, for windows, made by members of Technos…hmmm…I’ll watch, but I ain’t donating squat. First time was vaporware, no guarantee this won’t be too.
Some play-throughs, I wouldn’t even buy any special moves. Just work my base stats so high I could drop a mid boss with a single thrown rock.
Kick a trash can at a wall so hard, the rebound could kill me if I fucked up my jump.
Drop Benny & Clyde’s asses so fast at the underpass they hadn’t even stopped talking yet. Pay me my $7.00!
haha ridin the tires was classic but nothing like the double team… i would let my boy throw the rock/stick/chain pop them… run up, pick em up an toss em against the “invisible” wall…
swear i can do some silly ish on that game (drop kick someone into the next stage, lmao… they would die but it was hilarious). an the warehouse stage was classic combo-wall combo fest…
oh an i just copped that rcr t shirt… had to
Interesting. You want to go into any more details at all for us that don’t know the story?
I remember playing the Original on NES, but more so getting the adapter so hot we were pretty much forced to stop playing, or we might burn the house down!
One of the GBA remakes that looked like the original had problems with the currency from what I remember. The parent company itself just makes the dodgeball with other sports and tack on stuff nowadays. Forgot it was called Million, so reading the Kickstarter where they have “Million’s blessing” was pretty funny.
It definitely wasn’t as deep as the original game but using thrown weapons and kicking trash cans or soccerballs to kill enemies is really fun, in this homebrew game put on Xbox360 Indies:
Legend of Dragon Flame High School - it is in full English and looks better than the preview pics allowed.
Learning new moves were all Street Fighter based too. Lightning Legs, Shoryuken, Tatsumaki, Bison Headstomp. Fireball wasn’t as intuitive but you don’t need it. Now I’m remembering it lacks that important one, picking up enemies and throwing them. Less impact on some of the hitstun and flying screen type stuff with the “corpse/dead body” or basically when you hit enemies and the physics on how far they go, pushback from your attacks and stuff like that.
Nigga STFU.
I’m referring to the redesigns to the sprites being Paul Robertson-esque (which they are).
