It’s never too late to jump into any game, so long as you enjoy it.
How do stream monsters even know which game is “dead” when they don’t play anything themselves?
Like I said, ‘trolls’. It won’t stop from scaring people who don’t know better.
If stream monsters are enough to scare you, chie’s meteors will surely give you a heart attack. RIP.
Yes her English voice is horrible. I expected a girly soft voice, not harley quinn D:
Well…maybe it’s not so bad…kinda growing on me >_>
Labry’s english voice is awesome. Give her more personality than the usual moeblob voice.
I like it as well, and I usually pick Japanese voices in my games.
Jesus, I love this game but i’m getting absolutely BODIED online :s
I’m not used to crazy anime fighters, so I’m coming into this as a technical/sf/footsie fan and Persona fan…any general tips to start off with?
hit the training mode. hit it hard. that’s the start for every fighter.
after you feel comfortable with the general feel of your character and basic combos you can start to bring it online. play around with the system mechanisms in training mode as well (roll, AoA, instant air dash etc). otherwise, the only thing that helps you to grasp what’s going on is to just spend time playing it.
Yeah. I had just messed with Akihiko in training and beat his arcade then jumped online and got gang-raped sideways. I guess he was not the best choice to start off with as you gotta get in close and with other Personas I couldn’t even get inside much. Plus I’m guessing his Persona is not one of the strongest as I called him a couple of time but Ceasar couldn’t seem to give less of a f**k
I am now training with every character and will beat all their arcades then jump into the challenge mode of my favs. I figure each character is so different there’s no way to do well without knowing their ins and outs. Being so well polished and story driven definitely helps, I’d say this is the greatest fighter cross-over game of all time
Akihiko is the most similar to an SF-style character, but unless you know what all your options are at any given time, you’re going to find yourself in the lose column often. He doesn’t have any real gimmicks or herp derp to fall back on(looking at you, Mitsuru and Chie), so solid fundamentals and patience are how you will win with him.
I would follow zUkUu’s advice and hit training mode as well as Dustloop and get at least one basic BnB, corner, anti-air, and Fatal combo committed to muscle memory. Find a friendly beginning room to get acclimated and don’t give up. Aki requires you as a player to constantly be on your toes. To me, he’s the second hardest character to play effectively behind Elizabeth. Good luck to you and keep at it!
why in the world are you rushing to get online? i hate impatient players. take your instant gratification tail to training mode and go to dustloop.com. before that learn ALL of the system mechanics and character moves(all of them) like you know your name. then i want you to practice nothing, but basic attacks for a full day. next specials and then supers(a day each). after you’re familiar with your ONE character(don’t push it jack) learn to use his/her moves in unconventional ways. don’t copy some else’s style. develope your own. check out frame data for specifics.
copy the top players…but understand first what they’re doing.
lol thanks dad. God forbid someone wants to play the game they just bought against real people.
I agree though that the best way to get good at the game early is to focus on one character, instead of trying to do all of the challenges/score attack/whatever since that stuff can actually develop bad habits. Sitting for an entire day in training mode hitting normals seems a bit excessive to me, but yeah, learn your combos and move properties, then take what you learn from short online sessions and use training mode or forums to figure out how to beat whatever was giving you trouble.
The game isnt even released yet here in europe so atleast you get it before us.
You shouldn’t be ashamed to get into a fighter just because it’s been out for a few dozen days. I’ve been on a retro kick, so I’ve been trying to get into King of Fighters XIII, which came out on PS3 literally hundreds of days ago… and you’d be surprised, there are still some old-timers out there playing it, keeping alive the spirit of Q4 2011 (what I like to call “the golden age of fighting games”). It’s sad that those glory days are gone forever, but we still have our nostalgia.
I’m planning on picking up Persona 4 this weekend… hope waiting another two days doesn’t cripple me too badly. Guess I can quit my job and do amphetamines until I catch up.
I played P4A for the first time today. Awesome game, the auto combo mechanic doesn’t feel as bad as I thought it would be, maybe because I thought it would feel like boost combos in sfxt. And the characters feel good as well. I really like Yu,Akihiko and Mitsuru so far. Yosuke,Chie and Naoto…meh, not so much. But I will probably pick it up soon.
