Nah, Fused Zamasu got gooey when Black died. If the fusion itself was the problem, it’d get borked from the jump.
Granted, it was going to happen at some point, but getting pretty much nuked didn’t really help matters.

It was because Zamasu was immortal and Goku Black was not.
Not Vegito, Goku. Goku had a ki blast contest with fused Zamasu, Goku won and it destroyed his aureole and also killed Black
