He was thinking he single handidly took out an entire ARMY when he was 9 so his son should be able to rock this with no trouble.

The problem is Gohan isn’t Goku. They don’t have the same personality. Piccolo pointed that out to him. He assumed Gohan was like him, he isn’t, and he gave him no heads up on his plan. "Hey son, I’m going train you until you go Super Saiyan without strain, but I’m not going to clue you in on the next level you reached, nor am I going make sure you can reach it consistently. I’m going to toss you to someone stronger than I am and give him senzu to make the fight fair " That isn’t even a meme man that is bad parenting. Goku’s 13 year old former archenemy shouldn’t know this fact better than him. Just because something worked out doesn’t make it a good idea.

I dunno. In the end Gohan’s attitude was better than typical Goku. SSJ2 Gohan was toying with Cell and the only reason he didnt finish him quicker was because he wanted him to suffer more. Had it been adult Goku in his position he would have not even thought of killing him. He spared Young Piccolo’s life, Raditz (first time), Nappa, Vegeta, Reekum and Freeza lol. Imo he woulda been like “lets see how strong he can get next time so I can fight him again”. Vegeta is the only one that finishes the job. But we know he is a jobber (Hit fight lol) so it kinda balances it out
