Ajay again hits the nail right on the head and also said exactly everything that I said. Haha.
The whole announcement of this box set has been a clusterfuck. What’s really the biggest let down is the confirmation that Toei has nothing to do with the remastering process. People assumed they would because of the fact that they co-announced this release with Funimation. Plus they were hyping it up in their big 30th anniversary press release they did. Toei may still be planning their own bluray version of the dragon boxes for all we know. But I hope all this fan feedback actually gets through to Funimation.
My Broly bluray came in today. The special features are lame since it’s all stuff they put YouTube when the movie came out…except of course they cut Vic out of everything. Lol
Bought the Steelbook yesterday. I have not popped the Blu-ray in yet. I did go ahead and enter in the digital code and don’t notice anything different. I will say that Funimation is about that BS with their digital library solution. At least consider attaching it to MoviesAnywhere.
Did finally get to watch the movie subbed though and as you can imagine Funi added and changed dialog in their dub. There’s no “Have fun Freeza!!” in the sub. Lol.
I have a feeling I’m the only one that liked some of the small changes here and there that Funi did with the dub. I definitely prefered Gogeta saying ‘WHAT THE…???’ when they broke reality.
Yeah the changes don’t really hurt anything. Just thought it was interesting. Especially the fact that most of the funniest lines in the movie are all Funi additions.
Been looking into the green tint problem while watching the movie again today. I couldn’t tell if there was a tint or not with my copy, but I’m sure it exists just for the fact that it is obviously mastered like every other copy out there. Looking at comparison shots online I don’t think it’s that much of a dealbreaker. The contents of the bluray itself on the other hand suck ass. Lol
And thanks to their inability to stay off Twitter, he’s going to body them. If they really fired him over the jellybean story. Funimation is going to get wrekt. Maybe end up as Vicimation
Edit: Anime News Network is lucky they are not a defendant.
