It is a Dragonball spinoff based off a Japanese arcade battle card game, that as of last year after Super wrapped up started getting animated shorts to promote itself and I think a Switch port of the arcade game or spinoff.
Basic gist is similar to Xenoverse, except not only time travel but alternate dimensions, which leads to fan service fights like a version of adult Goku that learned GT style SSJ4 fighting against SSB Goku, and other original characters that are likely to never appear in manga or anime unless they get popular enough.
The animated shorts are like ten minutes and subtitles on youtube if you want.
so i never watched any movie reviews from actual dragon ball fans. they hit on alot of points i realized and appreciated. But its funny how they are oblivious to other aspects…mainly because its a group of white nerds so i dont expect them to notice. like how saiyans seem to have racial/skin color differences. like bardocks homie looked like a lightskin dude to me…has a lineup and everything.
I believe that Goku, Vegeta etc, are Asian looking as well, or at least the most “Earth” like representative would be Asians.
In the world of “anime” the Asian characters never really look like real Asians anyhow, I could literally name dozens of characters whom are “Japanese” in an anime, but look nothing Asian about them.
It’s the sameway I feel about Dragon Ball with their characters.
Which I get…its Japan. This is why I appreciate the newer looks, and I have to lean more or towards it being the new writer than toriyama being progressive.

Naw, I mean with DB I think they literally have no idea what they can or should do with the franchise from a story perspective. Much like American super hero comics they have reached the point of retreads on popular fan ideas or previously non canon elements to avoid gambling on new stuff that could lead to GT level backlash on unpopularity.
