There were those who blamed their inability to beat SE on the game balance. Beating them or equivalently skilled players with Gief in classic ST would have gone a long way in defanging that particular excuse
^ So I guess there’s people who think HDR is less balanced than ST? I hardly touched ST, but I do know that I liked Chun’s SBK and Neckbreaker more for the most part, and never understood why they removed that one kick she had to bounce away instead of improving it (I think Sirlin said something about it not meshing with her playstyle but I disagree). I don’t think it’s any less balanced overall though…
