Funny lol thought that’s not the Toei punch…Toei punch is a last resort move that generally SHOULDN’T work but it does anyway to work as a plot device especially when the writers have created an entity that probably is getting a bit out of hand in which the only solution would be to come up with something completely ridiculous just to get rid of it…What happened to brolly in the first movie? Toei Punch Android 13? Toei punch Hell I what happened to hildegarn probably a semi Toei Punch…Sephiroth in Advent Children? Toei punch called Omnislash 2.0…
Gohan at that level during that movie probably could have breathed on frieza and he would have caused 9999 damage to him (overkill).
Ah I see, I always thought the toei punch was just a massive punch that’d KO an opponent. So what you listed would be examples of toei punches, but SS2 Gohan killing Bojack is not, nor would SS2 Gohan gut punching Cell and causing him to barf out 18 be considered one.
Alright, looks like I have to cross off every kill Kenshiro got in HnK. Since all I remember him doing was punching dudes and them subsequently exploding.
If only he attempted to disintegrate Buu totally with one giant attack instead of wasting episode after episode punching a piece a of gum into false submission.
The movies–including the last one–might be a little nicer if they related in any way whatsoever to the storyline of the series. As they are, they make zero sense and are basically an exercise in how best to stage the same old “villain threatens Earth, heroes pull through in the end” scenario. Most of them fail.
Gogeta’s pretty clearly based on Gotenks, who (obviously) is a Toriyama-designed character.
I’m sure that was exactly the reason they were made. It’s just more awesome/fun of what most of us love. Why bitch about some silly shit like that? Just enjoy them for what they are.
SS4 was cool and all but SSj3 was all Goku needed. He just couldnt keep the form that long cuz it used to much power.
I dont know if anyone ask but do they every explain why gohan started doing poses like the Ginyu force? It would of been funny in the 12th movie if they applauded him for good posing.
The opted not to show it after it was leaked to the public. Apparently the trailer shown wasn’t the final product and they still had small stuff to finish up. The movie still is gonna suck balls.
Dude… they’re bad. They’re very, very bad. If they had the exact same plots but had a new set of characters unrelated to Dragon Ball, the movies would have a hard time getting a direct-to-video release, let alone a theatrical release.
One of the criticisms that often gets lobbed at Dragon Ball is that it’s all a bunch of mindless fighting. It’s not an entirely fair claim to make in reference to the series, but it’s absolutely accurate for the movies.
Except Buu was just feeling pain, not really being damaged. Vegetto was totally a league above Super Buu but wasted massive amounts of time until he got absorbed, but I guess it was the Vegeta half that was to blame for that…:bluu:
