the only reason ppl say the jap voices are better is cause they blinded by dat yellow fever. truth is, whites are superior for everything, including doing voices.
seriously…white ppl have bigger vocal cords to…so of course they are gonna be superior at being voice actors.
My only gripe about the Jap voices is that characters sound too damn much like one another (Goku, Gohan, Bardock, Tullece) I mean I know they’re related but do they ALL have to have the same VA?(Cooler, Frieza)

No, I just happen to find majority of Japanese VAs better. If there was an anime where I liked the dub better, it was Rurouni Kenshin. Kenshin had a more manly voice instead of a voice like a little kid.

But then again, I haven’t seen too many animes where there was a dub to it so I can’t compare most of the animes. And a lot of times when I see dubbed versions on TV, I’ve never seen the Japanese versions.
I for one prefer the english VAs over the Jap except for King Kold. No way the Jap VAs can top Majin Vegeta’s speech before and during the fight w/Goku.
Of course in any other anime. The Jap VAs win hands down.

I for one having seen the entire show over and over as a kid in the US dub, and watching the original audio track now for the first time, by far prefer the original. Maybe if goku maintained the same voice actor from Dragonball to DBZ, it would have been OK, but the DBZ actor completely changes his character.

According to power levels, Frieza’s 1st form had a max power lvl of 500,000 whereas Goku after he healed had a max power level of 300,000. Yet he was able to injure Frieza(4th form). Even Piccolo was able to fight Frieza’s 2nd form when his power lvl was no where near Frieza’s. So how the hell did Frieza ever have a hard time with any of them? he coulda just went max on 1st form and beaten them all. Is it because Frieza despite transfroming, he never actually powered up to increase his power lvls(like Goku/Vegeta/Trunks vs Cell)? Just to access a higher lvl of power/get a power boost from the next form?

You assume anime characters are white because they have blonde hair or blue eyes. Have you seen someone who has the same hairstyle and same eye-shape as Goku? No, I didn’t think so.
To say an anime character is of a certain race is nothing but stupid, unless specified. They aren’t real. All their colorful hair and what not are not real. If Goku is Asian, and then turns Caucasian, wtf is Bulma? She has teal colored hair. I guess any anime show should never have a blonde/yellow/gold hair colored character if he/she does not want to be considered white.

ok so back on topic: another thing that irked me about the series. vegeta had the power to blow up a planet at the start of the series. since then, the people theyve fought have been way more powerful. often times fireballs get deflected or just plain miss and end up hitting the planet. the planet does not blow up. yet the people shooting these fireballs are far more powerful than vegeta was when he blew up arlia.
that’d probably be a problem if i took anime hella seriously, like this Shinkuu Tatsumaki otaku. but instead it gives me a chuckle.
