I thought I would hate it, but it is honestly not that bad. The picture quality is brilliant, once you get used to the new aspect ratio.
Truth. I’ve got all of the DB/DBZ manga and after readind DB and then Z, it puts a new spin on things. Sometime, I plan to read all 42 books of the series again and see DB and then all of DBZ (except Garlic Jr. That Saga was full of faggotry.)
Despite the fact that Freeza was the first bad mofo in Z, I still favor Cell over him and I loved his intricate time travel plot. And the Cell vs. Goku fight = DOPE.
Broly was pimp. One of my fav scenes in the first Broly movie is when he uses a ki blast no bigger than the size of a beach ball. Blows up these little alien’s planet that can be seen from the planet they’re on. That was such an “OH SNAP, SON!!” moment.
I’ve got season 1-2 of DBZ uncut. Awesome stuff. I need to pick up season 3. Goku going Super Saiyan for the first time was freaking amazing. Being a dub fan, I do think it is a nice feature to be able to watch the dub with the Japanese audio. Of course I outisde of the specials songs in the series such as Cha La, I really can’t stand the Japanese DBZ score. Just seems so unfitting for DBZ for me. But when Gohan goes SS2, the Japanese track that plys during that scene cannot be beat.
I just may pick up DBZ: Budokai Tenkichi 3. They’ve got Arale (Dr. Slump) as a playable character. Now if they’ll just put Beelzebub (Sandland) and Neko Majin (Neko Makjin) in there, I’ll be a happy camper.
ah, apparently the older dvds are still out there after all…I just ordered one off amazon. I had to have those old voices(Zarbon in particular) and music back. The music from the newer “Uncut” era of DBZ is far worse than anything Falconer ever did. Perhaps when I have a load of free time, I’ll even cut the old music and voices into the newer uncut version of certain episodes I love, resulting in the perfect version of DBZ, imo.
Of course…I still see the DBGT dvds all over the place, because nobody wanted that bullshit.

I might get it, but only because I don’t have any DB games other than Dragon Power (the first DB game for NES).
EDIT: Also, while being able to hear the dub with the Japanese score instead of suffering through Bruce Falconer chewing on a keyboard for the BGM is top tier, fuck FUNimation for not putting Head Cha-La on that track. They’ve got it on the Japanese audio, and the generic BGM over the visuals is lame. I mean, at least play “Rock the Dragon” over it (which I actually liked. “Dragon, Dragon, Rock the Dragon, Dragon Ball Z!!! Dragon, Dragon, Rock the Dragon, Come… get… ME!!!”)
I seem to be the only one who cant stand to listen to the Japanese voices for the characters. I seriously like the dubbed version better. The japanese voices are so awful and dont fit any of the characters at all.
I love the Ocean dud eps up to when funimation came in and F’ up the script and most of the voices.

^heh, people that actually agree with me on this voice actor issue…I’m honestly surprised. I checked out the “Zarbon’s Surprise!” episode yesterday on the season 2 collection, and yeah…new Zarbon voice was completely inferior to that Dobson “badass aussie” sound. Also, Vegeta was still on his old voice at that time. I don’t think it became the current voice until the Ginyu force appeared.
