I got out my Incomplete Cell Saga DVDs and watched the fight between Piccol & 17. Couldn’t wait for it to air on CN any longer. Been a long while since I saw that fight. My word, that fight was full of so much beasting. I saw that fight after only being a fan of DBZ for only about a year and it blew me away. Even today, that fight is DOPE!! The manga version of that fight is good but the anime version totally owns it.

Anyone remember the technique Goku used to knock Chi-Chi outta bounds in the Tournament in Dragon Ball? He just punched the air and knocked her out of the ring! Man, that was some dope stuff and after Dragon Ball, we never saw it again!!!
Speaking of regular DB, I really liked the fight between Goku & Tien before Goku fought Piccolo. Tien improved a lot but not enough to where he could really match Goku. But still, it was one of my fav fights in OG DB.
Speaking of OG DB, did anyone else think General Blue was gay? In the manga, Krillin & Bulma joke about him being gay. Seemed like he was to me.
My boy ***Magnetic Itachi ***thinks that Piccolo should be respected in the series for being intelligent and good fighter. He thinks that if he had vegetas power level, that he would be the better fighter. My boy also thinks that piccolo was as strong as a super sayain level 2 towards the end of dbz (which i think is bull-shit)
We always argue about this because i think Piccolo is garbage. I know for a fact that piccolo’s pl couldnt have been as high as a ss2 because he got fuckin spat on by Dabura. I dont get why he even likes piccolo…what has he ever accomplished??

That was pretty horrible, when that Namek kid was about to die by Freeza the first time. One of the most annoying grunting scenes I’ve endured for this show.
I liked when he fused with Nails to fight Frieza. But of course he was still no match. And then he fused with Kami to become a Super Namek, lol. He was owning Cell for a while.
Didn’t Piccolo have much more worth at the end of DB and beginning of DBZ? His last true triumphant match was with 17, yes, but you should look into his entire history. Gohan respected the hell out of him, probably just as much as his own father.
He probably wasnt ever SSJ2 powerful, but he wasn’t THAT weak. I think he was stronger then any human (even Tien), but FAR below the saiyans, like everyone else.
Gohan had mad respect for Piccolo. He even wore the same clothing as him for a long time.
At one point he was the strongest fighter in the series when he fused with Kami. Guru (the Namekian who made all the other Nameks) said that if Kami and Piccolo were never split up, he never would have lost to Nappa & Vegeta when they first attacked Earth. So Kamilo must have been one bad mofo before he split in two. Of course when they reunited, Piccolo had surpassed Kami by leaps and bounds so that just made their union that much stronger.
I never liked the way they tuned down Piccolo. I mean he used to be the second strongest character, then they introduced Vegeta, then Trunks appeared. When they fought the androids and Piccolo fused with Kami he surpassed all Saiyans but was still tied with 17. BUT Vegeta trained one year on the time room and suddenly he is not only waaay better than Piccolo and the androids but even stronger than Cell lvl 2… Then Piccolo ALSO went to the time room but after that he never kept up with the Saiyans. It seems really unfair to me.
Same thing happened to Uub in GT. It is supposed that Uub has the same power than Kid Buu, i mean he is really strong (lvl 3 Super Saiyan strong). Yet in GT he is almost useless and even when he fuse with Majin Buu to form Super Uub he stills beat no one.
Brolly, dude was greatness. If I could rewrite DBZ, I’d scrap the last quarter of Buu Saga and would have just had everyone fight against Brolly as the final fight.
Frieza despite being suspect as well with the woman’s voice at first, was the first unstoppable badass that every DBZ villian since has jocked with the multiple transformations. That and his bull transformation was badass.
Cell gets plenty of love and is definately a monster in many ways, but I still put him below Frieza, because he literally jocks/homages/is inspired by every major villian before him. That and the whole blowing up and reviving from one cell in a fucking minute was bullshit.
Get the last volume of Dragon Ball on DVD if you, for some insane reason, doubt how tight Piccolo is.
And at the end of the Cell Games saga, Piccolo wasn’t much weaker than the Saiyans. It was like:
-Gohan
-Perfect Cell/Goku
-Vegeta/Trunks/Piccolo
-Humans
-trees and shit
-Mr. Satan/Hercule.
I didn’t really see most of the Cell Games stuff in the anime, but in the manga I don’t remember Vegeta/Trunks proving to be any better than Piccolo…? Cell 2 > non-Saiyans and Vegeta > Cell 2, but in the mean time, wasn’t Piccolo powering up?
