Is the street fighter comic canon?

Well I am getting more into the story line of the sf universe and I was wondering if this was canon or not. I haven’t read the comic but I just might if it’s canon :karate:

Btw I hear that the creator of the sf canon guide at gamwfaqs posts here often, this true? I have a few questions I’d like to ask him about SF :karate:

No, its not canon, but you could look at the comic as the way Capcom would retell the SF storyline.

And yes Tiamat posts here, however there are alot of other people on these forums that known alot about the canon.

Ok thanks for that, btw is there a website online that would post these comics? I don’t think I can get them because I spend the little money I have on Music CD’s (I am currently job hunting)

As for the questions: what are the character to character quotes in the stret fighter alpha 3 japanese version?

What is next after street fighter 3? it seems to me there will never be a street fighter 4

wtf is with Vega not being gay and Gief being gay?

Have we seen the last of Bison? I hope not because he is street fighter (along with Ryu)

You can find them on GameFAQs.

Capcom said that at the earlies SF4 would come out 2007-2008 to celebrate SFs 20th Anniversary.

Why would Vega be gay? Vega is bishonen (pretty male) however bishonen characters are usualy never ever gay, and if they were then it kill a good perecentage of the female fan base/sales for whatever.

Bishonen characters, like Vega, may seem gay to guys, however women/girls find them to be attractive/hot.

I serioulsy doubt he’d be in SF4, however Capcom knows how to bring him back if they need to, which is hard considering his soul was sent to hell.

I’ve looked forever for those quotes and can’t find them on gamefaqs :xeye:

Thank God Vega isn’t gay, he’s my fav. character of all time, and I really hope they bring Bison back, Donno I’m just an old school fan who doesn’t want anything changed :karate:

EDIT: do you happen to know if they SF plot guide will be updated anytime soon?

Sadly, all signs currently point to “eventually, but probably not for a while.” Accounting busy season for me right now…

So you wrote the guide? wow that’s great! it must’ve taken you countless hours to write all that for us SF fans, thanks! :karate:

You’re welcome^^ I haven’t clocked overall time, but each update usually takes me about 5 to 6 hours. …this one will probably take me like, 15 once I finally get to it though.

I bet there’d be more female interest if Vega were gay and he was having a “budding” romance with Ken, “but they’re sworn enemies and he’s marrying Eliza, oh the tragedy blah blah blah”.
Girls eat up that kind of drama.

It’s kept CLAMP in business.

Diffrient culture. It may work fine in Japan with the comics CLAMP does, but theres nothing saying that work here, plus most of CLAMP’s readers are always female.

All the girls I know here eat that stuff up, it’s a female thing, not a culture thing.

hey
great job, TiamatRoar!

what do you think of incorporating your plotguide into Wikipedia? There is already a lot of not up to date info over there.

Please tell me what you think about it and tell me if you need any help.

Oh yeah, how many guys do you think would still buy the SF comic if it were like that hmmm? Did you think about that?

See if there is alot of gay bishonen guys, then your audience is ONLY going to be female (with maybe a small gay audience) and in the US culture/market 90% of the comic audience is male, so it is a culture and/or market thing.

Earth to TAS:
My entire point was that girls like the gay guys in comics and female readership would increase, not decrease, were they to decide to make one of the characters a gay bishonen. (in this case: Vega)

The culture makes no difference, I’m basing that off the opinions of every girl I know that reads comics/manga.

The Tiamat? Amazing! I’ve been reading the plot guide a lot and I’ve learned a great deal thanks to you, man.

As for updates, I’m anxious to see 'em when they come.

Oh, and isn’t Zangief the general representation of a homosexual male according to the Japanese, or somethin’ like that? I don’t mean to offend anyone; just curious; that’s all.

If you ask me, I want valid proof that SF4 is being made…if Capcom survives by thenn…

Well, not that we know all the details, but the whole thing with Capcom of Japan selling the Street Fighter rights is enough to make me think otherwise.

It is NOT in production at the moment. Capcom of Japan just said they had plans to do it, but that was like a year or two ago, much has changed since then. Capcom had done quite a bit of SF4 pre-production work, but they never actually started working on an actual engine or anything.

Im still trying to find out why that happend. Best I can figure is CoJ just didnt want to ever worry about SF again. If you think about it, MegaMan was the only classic series of theres that they continued non-stop. If you’re an overall MM fan you got it good, unless you only liked the Classic series and/or Legends series (I really want another Legends game damn it! Although Im sure more people would rather see MM9, or another MM game tha wasnt an Battle Network or X related game)
