Is the CE worth it?

Depends on how much you like sfxtk I will pick up the CE for 360 and the standard for ps3

Well assuming you use the quarter holder to charge your friends to play it could potentially be worth it.
Lets break it down.

I’m a loser but have very loyal friends:
Well assuming you play two games a day for the next year with your super close friends you would make 182 dollars and 50 cents.

I’m joe cocaine and have a ton of friends who are kind of sketchy but we still chill on occasion when I have cocaine to pedal:
If you have 4 people over every 4 days ( the interval I’m assuming you pick up ) and you play throughout the high ( 30 minutes ) and get an average of 2 games per person in for a span of 4 months then you should make around 42 dollars assuming your dick wad coke head friends don’t steal it.

I’m the god of social interaction, I have 9000 Facebook friends who take turns in groups of 20 coming to see me, all we do is play video games:
Start an arcade already you asshole.

But all the useless junk that comes along with it simply takes up room. If it was a worthwhile CE, then I’d agree. You are most likely to just open it up, look at the additional crap you got, put the game in, and toss the junk aside to never look at it again.

I knowwwww, I have bunch of CE’s for other games. I just like to have it lol

Pre-ordered special ed for 360, even though I’m still deciding whether or not to switch to PS3. I’m not buying two special Eds or two copies at one time… I will buy the other console when the price drops.

Problem: buying a game that’s multiplatform on launch.
Solution: Ask yourself key questions.

A: Which console will you being playing the most Offline/Online?
B:Which console has better community support for you in general?(local tournaments, ect.)
C: Which console you feel more comfortable with?(anything from controllers, to online service)
D: Are you concerned about Console Exclusive Content?

these few questions should narrow down your decision, if not down right answer it.

this shouldn’t be a deal breaker but note that SRK Live will most likely do SFxTK on their 24/7 stream and thats on XBL, Likewise SFxTK will most likely be played on PS3 at Evo and other Majors. small things to consider.

If we’re talking price. If you’re willing to get ti a few days late you can jump through some hoops and get the CE for $53 or the standard one for 47 (fuzzy on the exact number for the standard one) at Lockerz.com.

Amen to the problem. The only game I’ve bought on launch is SFIV and SSFIV, and at the time I only had PS3 so there was no problem.

  1. I play SFIV more online/offline since PS3 has the input lag, and XBL has a bigger community online. Although most of my friends play on PS3, but I’m not deciding on what my friends have since most of them rage quit. PSN players tend to lag more, and I actually never noticed that 2 frame input lag until I switched to 360, and then back. I still use the PS3 every now and then though.
  2. My tournaments are a mixture, local uses Xbox though since they run 6 at a time during groups for tournaments.
  3. I prefer PS3 controllers, but I feel uncomfortable on both since I’m still learning my TE Stick with characters that aren’t charge. It’s a dual modded 360 stick.
  4. If they’re good, yeah. Broken? No. May be fun to troll online a bit, but then it just becomes tiresome unless you can turn them off (Gill in 3S online).

More or less you should get it for 360 then since you play online often, you have a dual modded stick the controller isn’t an issue either. whether or not you should get the CE or not thats up to you.

to me its only $10 more bucks and im sure that the gem packs alone will add up to be that much when they go on sale on the network after release. so its more or less an investment, I know im going to like the game so its just DLC i’d paid for in advance…thats how i see it. the other stuff like the comic is ok…even though im used to getting full artbooks. and the bank is just Lolz…so its w/e

For the record the UK version of the SE comes with the comic and art book, cabinet and all 5 gem packs. the cabinet will be made of plastic, I already have a space invaders version

Personally i’ll be getting it for 360 because most people I know play it on there. And I dont have a PS3  I’m tempted with the SE because the site I pre-ordered the standard edition on before the SE was available is selling it for only £7 more! In fact the RRP difference in the UK is only £10 anyway!! £10 for all the gem packs? they’re bound to be more than that when they’re inevitably released later. The price difference over here just isn’t worth worrying about, might as well get the SE.

it says 45 gems total

few days ago on PSN Store you could download for free 15 packs of 3 gems each (45 total), then they’ve been removed, i guess they were not supposed to be for free

I pre-ordered it from Zavvi since it was £42.85. I wouldn’t be surprised if the price difference was made up by the DLC.

I wonder if it comes with the pre-order gems, though.

If you’re willing to watch a few stupid videos and wait 2-3 days for shipping you can get it from Lockerz.com for much cheaper.

If at recommended price, and you want the gems… CE looks better. After release, the gems will be priced somehow, and you’d be hard pressed for Capcom to price them anywhere less than the $10 or £10 difference. Example; in MvC3 - $10 got you Shuma & Jill along with the other cool bonus things. When they were priced, each was $5 … so effectively you got the bonus stuff free. The only way I wouldn’t recommend the CE is if you can get the standard version significantly cheaper than the $10 difference. You’d be saving more immediately and if you hate the game you aren’t down another $10 because you got lulled into giving Capcom more fight money.

Or you could wait for the alleged “GoTY” edition that may land with the Vita release.

there will be no goty year addition. This disc is all you need to buy its been stated over and over again.

Yeah, I think I may just stick with it on 360 for CE. Maybe later on I will buy it when it’s cheap on PS3. I’ve only started going to weekly local tournaments, I do most of my training online (which is bad but most people cba to go somewhere unless there’s fight money).

Stuff like this always happens… It’s kinda funny if they’d let you keep them.

i didn’t download them, just heard of it on other forums, anyway even if i downloaded them i don’t think they could remove them from my system…

Just preordered the CE today. It comes with everything. Last day to get it too. I got lucky I guess. Laziness does not usually pay off like that.

just watched some SE vids on youtube…not sure if its worth the extra 10 honestly might just change mine to a regular copy x guide

The SE is worth the price of admission for 10 bucks the thing is if your taking this game seriously it has all the gems you’ll have to pay for eventually and some extras you can’t get except for in that pack plus it eliminates having to pay for gems( the basic first batch)when characters and costumes become available
