This is pretty much the way I was looking at it. She hasn’t got much as far as damage goes, but this technique is going to help her a lot, if not make her a major threat when mastered. Up close it doesn’t matter about jump ins as she, obviously, has an instant overhead. But even at a long distance, a tri-jump and a couple of reps of the infinite will be enough to get you up close where you can, do whatever. Even with C it could get her right in your face faster than most dashes, where she can go for a low, or even command throw. So it deffinately has it’s uses.
It needs a lot more testing, but I was messing around and 66~9+A can be continued on advanced guard while in the corner, regardless of push back. It can even tick into command grab. It could lead to some scary stuations if used properly, pinned in the corner where advanced guard wont help and the only outcome is you either stay there, get hit and put into the infinite, or you get thrown into knock down, where you have to try and fight your way out again.
Right now this character has issues, but I deffinately think she’s going to be a character to look out for in the future, especially if people give this game the same dedication players gave Marvel…
Does anyone have some recommendations for assists? Because I think she gives Casshern some more combo potential. But I don’t really see who helps her the most. =/
Oh wow so I see why I wasn’t able to get this to combo. Basically as soon as you hit B you already have to be inputting the next one. Most I was able to get was 5 so far but yeah it’s actually doable. Pretty tiring to keep up though for long I imagine.
In the corner I’ve been able to land IAD.B megacrash > infinite pretty consistently. I think that’s probably one of the easiest set ups for this, and assuming you’re winning a round and could do the infinite to the corner, I’d get them over there then use the meter I built to megacrash and start the infinite. In theory morrigan’s broke as shit.
Although honestly I think it’s best to just block high vs her as the damage off of a low is a lot less than if they get an overhead.
edit if this makes it easier for anyone wanting to try it, my inputs to get the low IAD j.B are 6628**, basically rolling an upwards fireball after the second forward. Holding B for some reason makes it come out more consistently.
Actually, you should do better in the corner with 66~9+B > 2B > 3C > 8+A+B+C+D. It usually works well in most corner combos, not sure how it would alter the timing but it should work for the extra damage. You could probably Baroque somewere in there as well… I’ll try it out later on.
Ditto, my thoughts too exactly… wish I had the game, I would’ve been disecting, analyzing and abusing this allready.
I knew she had something like this, just had to be discovered. Morrigan is much to sexy to not be top tier. This game needs a Storm lol
I think Doronjo has some untapped potential also, well untapped because I don’t have the game yet lol Some one most likly is on to her though by now. I think she’d make a decent assist to morrigan and vise verse.
Team Bitches (Morrigan, Doronjo) owning all in the future lol Look damn good
I think the only thing problem is that he fastest low attack is her low medium. So I would just block high if you got some guy trying to do that shit too you but it is really fast can be annoying.
Does anyone have a way to keep pressure on V-joe? Whenever I try to mixup with dash after a knockdown I fly over him because he is so short. He can then hit you with A as you land on the other side.
If by gg instant air dash you mean guilty gear, it’s actually up-forward, forward because you have to jump, then air dash. Also there’s a minimum height off the ground you have to be to air dash in gg so it’s probably not as strict timing wise.
I’ll try out forward, up-forward and see how it goes.
What are you trying to do? IAD low to the ground? You should probably do, forward, forward, up + attack instead depending on your range. I can’t see any use for Mrrigan to go into the air, air dash and then attack, when she can simply dash off of the ground and attack instantly, or as late as you’d like. By doing this she even retains a double jump. If you’re going to be “air dashing” it’s probably best to know what you’re doing. It can’t be spammed like other characters, her dash cancels are spammier. She has arial attacks on a ground dash, so take advantage of it.
Make sure to hit up and attack at the same time. If you accidentally double jumped, it means you hit the attack button too late (8~B for example) Make sure it’s the same time (8+B)…
