It’s a very fun game even though it’s hard to overlook that the game is incomplete. Online is straight ass, but luckly for me I have a couple of peeps living with me that like to play it as well. For me, the movesets for each character makes for a more simplistic game and focuses more on combos then special spamming. I’m not going to argue that SNK needs to fix the netcode like yesterday, but gameplay-wise it doesn’t need any fixing. DLC characters and stages in my opinion should be absolutely be free of charge to make up for the lack of effort from SNK and Ignition. I’m willing to pay for the various modes and color edited and/or alternate costumes, but that’s as far as money goes for a game that is clearly unfinished.

Gameplay wise i feel like they should have included run-grab cancel b/c ita a little bit to easy to block in the game, its already hard enough to grab a person whos just turltling so i feel like if u rush in and either attack low or have that grab cancel(outta run) possiblity it’ll make the gameplay much faster. And little bit more offensive for non-turtles, instead of now where u have to stop out the run and grab them, which is so obvious.Besides that very solid gameplay
If you get your timing down, you can get it to the point where you grab them immediately during the dash. I usually dash and do b+AC for this since its easier then letting it sit at neutral for a split second. Seems to work just fine for me.
Also yeah the kara cancel I think was not intended on SF4 but I heard it does exists in this game as well, just need to figure out how its done or if its a rumor.
the kara cancel is in the game. They have like a 3 paragraph article on it in the strategy guide of all places, BUY IT/plug Maybe later on if nobody explains it ill just do a short blurb.

Now for her grab the reason why i say that is because she as a character in whole does not have any range versus many characters in kof, this also applies to her grab. So im more so sure that u arent able to, but if u are how would u do this?

yo i support snk/ignition i bought the game and im looking forward to future improvements and downloadable content(mai). I just really hope they improve and you know like im not the only one who thinks the game feels incomplete. I understand that the games missing some things but complaining about that anymore. Im focusesd on the gameplay, im wondering if its a way to make it easier to be able to pressure a turtling or overly blocking opponent. Now i know that its very difficult to just standard grab any other time but during a dogde roll, being which i feel as though kara canceling would be an effective away to get the range u need. But the style of athenas animation it looks impossible to extend it with kara-canceling.
I really wanna wait on picking up the guide until i see some improvement in online play and downloadable content, i know u can short hop to pressure but inorder to combo from a short hop- u have to wait i know like a sec and a half to input the kick into a ground combo from the short hop but its obvious and someone can be quick to punish it. If u know how to extend athenas grab range please, if not i dont know how u could call me dumb for assuming u cant because of the way her grab looks.
just tried this game out like a few days ago.
so far, my impression of it: it sucks big time. characters are stripped down and for what? better graphics? please. graphics isn’t everything.
in fact, snk focused so much on the graphics that they forgot everything else like new characters, storyline and i’m guessing that most characters were stripped of their moves because snk didn’t have time to animate it. you can tell because they even took away the characters close normals.
i have to hand it to them though, they did a pretty good job animating ash and iori but everyone else was half assed. in fact, even the creators admit they spent much more time on ash compared to other characters.
as for the game play, it feels slow, sluggish and limited compared to kof11.
this game takes one step forward (graphics) and two steps backward (everything else)

they sure put alot of time into a fucking remy wanna be, i swear to god this dude looks like that chick from that 3d kof whatever her name was, exact same hair style. This game looks like it was marketed for Phillipino trannies with the character design being what it is lol. I like how he and the other guy from his team got like a million moves compared to people like Mature with TWO moves and ONE super. Its pretty fucked up. I do like the whole big sprites that make it feel like AOF but the backgrounds still got all these cheesy characters doing the same movements, it should have been more like CVS, that game had some really awesome backgrounds in it, especially the dojo one that you destroy during the match.
And how do you assign your own music to the stages? kinda pointless if you ask me but it would be cool if you make people listen to your music online lol.
Also i love how they have 3 people with the same slashy type attacks, reusing the same effects on a game this new when they could have went a different direction with other charactes that had more unique playstyles or whatever. I would have liked to see kula and vice instead of mature and that other weird ass chick.

I personally loved the gameplay when I played it at a buddy’s, but reading about the net code and the fact that Ignition is “proposing” to work on it means I’m gonna wait til I read about a legit patch. I doubt we’ll see anything soon though, I’m sure Ignition must know this shit needs to be fixed all along, acting like they want feedback to see about if they need to improve the game is just a cop out, and probably a way to buy time. “Oh what? You guys DO want good netcode? Oh shit, well post it in the forums for 5 months then maybe we’ll believe you, you know statistics and all…”
Didn’t KoF always have slashy graphics? It’s nothing to criticize really, that’s just they’re style.
People are doing some pretty crazy shit with just a few moves too, I was really surprised with some of the Ralf videos I stumbled across online. (arcade footage ofcourse).

Damn it’s fun in local VS, totally worth the NZ$100 I spent on it. Mature is awesome even with only two moves, the game plays like a dream~
i mean how you have iori sans the flame, leona, and then mature, i think everyone would have been better with a blue mary or vice since they have different play mechanics. Hell leona is just a less effeminent version of ash, just with bigger tits lol
I am glad that made new sprites even if some of them are SUPER hideous, if they actually add characters as dlc(which I REALLY doubt) I hope they look a lot more detailed and take atleast half the time they did with ash’ley
