I have seen a couple different reports. I would like to play 3s on it but I’m really worried how bad the lag is. I have heard both sides of the story and was curious how bad it really is? Quite frankly, I remember playing 3s on a friends HDTV where I just couldn’t stand it because there was about a quarter second HD lag. I’d hate to have to be forced to alter my “psychic” parry timing, only to go to an arcade in a month and get whomped. Anyways, thanks for the input.
It’s not bad. Probably not worth your time to, if you can’t adapt - people have diff connections and circumstances change.
Parry timing and links are different. It’s really close but if you switch from online to offline and you’re in a pressure situation you’re going to know really fast. On the flip side of things you learn a lot about situational play. I just placed 7th/16 in a Toronto 3S tourney (comp isn’t exactly light here) and was able to handle a lot of situations because I played so much varied comp online.
yes its worth it.
especially if you want to play 3s and there is no comp right now this second!
there is every kind of skill level online.
they now have p2p mode and p2p lobby so the lag wont be as bad as you would expect. (depending on where you live ofcourse)
I can honestly say, playing different kinds of styles that ive gotten way better due to online play.
If it werent for online Id probably wouldnt know how to fight a yun properly.
maybe only 1 or 2 yun players in montreal or around my area anyways.
sure if you were asking the same question for xbox live which costs money…but dude, kaillera is free, why dont you just download it and find out for yourself. its quite descent if you ask me tho. alot ppl do afterall play on it.
From my experience if your looking to play 3S online, forget about standard Kaillera, trying to parry consistantly is just too frustrating overall. P2P Kaillera, however, is great (I have no trouble doing parrys/combos/whatever at all) and is well worth your time trying out.
Kaillera is totally worth your time. You can play against real people whenever you want, that’s a small price to pay for the lag. And as others said, p2p works even better if you have a good ping. Hop aboard!
After about 2 months of playing 3s on it. I refused to play on anything but lan connection or anyone over 55 ping when I felt like getting a genuine game in (I have broke from the norm though for shits and giggles games). I’m glad a few people are finally deciding to primarily only play on lan. Took fucking long enough. Its the only way I accept to play because it has the least delay input though still, feels really bad after playing offline.
Point taken. Me stupid. Giving try!
Thanks for the input though from everyone. I’ll probably check out the starters guide later this week.
oh its RLY worth it man…if you want to get experience with good players in different situations there are SOOO many ppl with different strategies to test your skills against…not to mention the fact that there are some top players online as well…if you’re looking to get used to competition this will help you…and when you enter a tournament youll know a wide variety of things to expect…thats what happened to me…i played in a tournament…knowing how to handle my opponents and it came through in the end…all of this comes in a package with a GOOD connection and a decent computer…look up p2p as well
Going through servers is really annoying to me, but with P2P it can be almost like playing offline. If you live reasonably close to the opponent you’ll only have a 2 or 3 frame delay.
