No you’re not missing anything. Blocking I’d the smart choice on defense most of the time.
You can see Tougeki results here from 2002 to 2012 : http://www.ssfranking.com/tourneys/tougeki_evo
2003 - 2 Uriens, Elena
2004 - Ibuki
2005 - Q and Hugo lol
2006 - Akuma, Urien
2007 - Urien, Necro (!), Akuma, Remy (!)
2008 - Akuma wins (Kuroda) and an other Akuma
2009 - Q, Urien, Remy
2010 - Ibuki…
2011 - No 3S…
2012 - Oro wins (again Kuroda!), Alex, Remy!
After all, i guess it’s decent for an old game from 99’s, i wonder if 3S had real locktests btw?
If you honestly think 3s is balanced, I have one word for you: Geneijin!
I’m not even going to talk about parrying, because that’s just asking for a flame war.
The game is still fun as hell tough.

^ Someone just played online and has to add their .2 cents.
What is basically V-ism that takes so little meter that it can easily be done twice a match, and can knock of upwards of 70% of your life bar in damage, and takes very little skill to use effectively? And lest we forget that Yun is already a great character, with tons of crossups and 50-50 mix ups that make trying to parry or block Geneijin setups a gamble.
You’re seriously saying that isn’t even slightly OP? There’s a reason Yun is top tier.
Genei Gin isn’t broken, it’s how quickly he builds it that makes it difficult to deal with.
I’ve seen Geneijin take away 90% of Akuma’s health bar off a single hit wakeup 50-50. I respectfully disagree. Not even Akuma deserves to take that much damage from one combo.
it feels like we’re stuck in an infinite loop
“3s isn’t balanced guys”
“probably true but you can improve”
“but it really isn’t balanced”
“yeah no one said it was”
“lmao you guys think it’s balanced?? here’s some cherry picked tournament results”
“hey yo no one said it was balanced but we like it anyway”
“if you really think it’s balanced look at genei jin”
dear lord. nothing short of “you’re right, it’s really unbalanced, and every loss you ever take is not your fault but the fault of the tier list” is the only acceptable answer? I can’t figure it out.
he did try to steal christmas tho
SRK would be a ghost town if we had nothing to endlessly argue about.
Yeah, I’m glad to see any signs of life down here in the dark recesses of the 3rd Strike forum.
Why are you listing those characters? They aren’t the winners of SBO.
Also, Kuroda’s team won but Kuroda himself lost like every match using Oro. His teammates had to bail him out every time.
The SBO results are actually pretty lopsided:
2003: Ken, Yun, Makoto
2004: Ken, Chun, Yun
2005: Chun, Ken
2006: Chun, Ken, Yun
2007: Chun, Yun, Makoto
2008: Akuma, Makoto, Chun
2009: Chun, Yun, Makoto
2010: Ken, Yun, Chun
2012: Oro(but he lost like every match), Ken, Chun
let it go
That thread is fucking epic. I think i will read it again when i will be stoned.
aaah what day is it
what is the date
I feel like I’ve been here… sometime before…
Regardless of who won, if you can make it to the finals with some ass tier character like alex or some shit, then that’s still pretty sweet man.
I honestly don’t think the game is as broke as people think anyway, but that’s my opinion.
The only character I really think is broke in 3S is Yun because of Genei-Jin. Ken and Chun require hit confirmation, which is an important skill and can’t really be brainlessly autopiloted like Yun can.
It can be autopiloted vs scrubs and people who don’t know Yun well.
Lol at Yun being brainlessly autopiloted. I think you’re playing the wrong game brother.
Btw…you guys are trippin. Soft ban Oro, Elena, and Tweleve!!!
