Why should you not be using them if they are there? I used to use them all the time. Just recently I have been actually pressing 3p/3k simultaneously.
An upgraded SE and a TE are almost the exact same price.
Get a TE.
Edit: Assuming you wait for a sale. Which happens alot.
Agreed. I got lucky and bought a new SE for 35$ and spent about 40 modding it so 75 compared to the 130 I spent for a TE new.
i got the mvc2 te at gamestop. works perfect
and there really is no reason to ever use the 3p 3k buttons. they’re gaudy and out of the way. just learn to press all 3 buttons at the same time
again with the bashing lol. They were put on the fightstick for a reason… it’s not a fluke… its the design.
Now that this thread is derailed all the way…
I always figured that the extra two buttons were on the stick for people that like to use different button layouts, and for different games. For example, some people might be used to 6 parallel buttons for Street Fighter, or 4 buttons in a row for BB, or whatnot.
That being said, I use the 3k and 3p for ultras… quite frankly, losing “street cred” on SRK isn’t gonna deter me from using a tool that can help me win.
For me slamming 3 buttons with my three fingers is simpler. 8 buttons is more area for me to cover. As if 6 buttons wasn’t enough for a game. I usually plug the holes I don’t use.
I didn’t think Gamestop took used sticks? I worked there and never saw one. But this was pre-SFIV, though.
Anyway, the sticks are designed with 8 buttons simply because the systems have 8 buttons. Look at the Street Fighter Anniversay stick for PS2/XBOX, and even that PS1 arcade stick that looks like a, well PS1 with buttons and stick. Those weren’t designed with GG/BB, ect in mind. 360 DOA stick is the exception.
Anyway, on my modded SE, I removed the first 2 buttons, and moved the wiring one place over. I just got a ChunTE stick, and am going to do the same to it.
I’m thinking maybe they don’t normally, because the woman working said she had to use the pricing of some other wired controller when she priced the SE stick I bought from there.
How much did they charge for a used SE? I believe typical pricing for a wired 360 controller is like $20.
It was $17.99. Its a PS3 stick though.
as far as I know they cant take used fight sticks because they dont have a pricing for them. The trade in value listed on the computers is listed at 0.01 cents. so they just dont take them.
GameStop is now selling the HRAP VLX for both the PS3 and the 360.

I got my SSF4 TE S stick from GameStop by the way. No problems with it so far. Thanks GS.
I’ve purchased from Gamestop before. Biggest problem with them is the locations in my area rarely have sticks.
i got my te from gamestop. played with it for about a week. i opened it up and changed to a bat top. i decided to go with a hori and returned it(friend works at gamestop). it was sold as new
Gamestop was great for my TE. Snagged an MvC stick (first one!) 3 weeks ago. Running around to other stores, heres the rundown of sticks:
Well, it’s still an EB where i got it, but i got the MvC there, they had a SF4TEr2 there, an SF4SE & a TvC for Wii.
Around the corner in that mall theres a gamestop with another MvC te. Two other local GSes each have SV4TEr2’s.
As i started looking, they’re EVERYwhere around here. And i support em (for sticks :p)
I purchased a BlazBlue CS TE Stick online from GS and had no problems whatsoever.
I just ordered the Real Arcade Pro 3 VLX for $295.03 and that includes tax and overnight shipping. Now lets see how it looks when it arrives.
Got it in the mail today in mint condition. Best stick I ever used!!!
