since his race is ambiguous, people that play dudley and who are proud of their race, feel an affinity with him even more if hes of their own race. It’s only natural. His features suggest mixed breeding, NONE of his features are black and he looks like NO english-blood born man i’ve ever seen.
Judging by other character designs in the series, is logical to assume that If he was black he’d look clearly black like deejay and boxer. Japs have a hardon for asians and women, so thats why ryu and elena look half white.
His blood type is listed as B, which is a fairly uncommon in Great Britain (only 8 percent have it), fairly common in US blacks (20 percent), but is very common in India (33 percent).
aren’t there a lot of indian people in england because of some historical reason? i remember something like this back from high school but can’t seem to recall.
lol ppl really don’t think their black? they’re bother dark as night, how the hell can they not be black. just cause they introduce non stereotypical dark characters then everyone assumes that they’re not black. shit people call me white cause i don’t act like the average black person. still doesn’t change the fact that i’m back.
there is this thing called a perm/wig. anyways dudley is black with a perm or half white end of story.
My view is that he isn’t really anything. He has no specific features that liken him to any race and I would imagine Capcom probably designed him with this in mind. He has the weirdest face shape and nose/ear shapes. Infact, inhumanly so. Besides, why does it really matter so much? It’s strange though that he is like this as Capcom is very stereotypical with their character designs normally (from a SF pov).
I’m sure Capcom put LOADS of thought in to that, just like all the other stats. Last time I checked Sagat was quoted as weighing 78kg!
India/Pakistan were under British rule for the hundred years preceding ww2 so yeah, there are a lot more people of Indian descent in this country than African. That being said, Dudley does not look to be of Indian descent at all!
Nothing personal, but I think that word should be changed to stereotypical…because how does the “average” black person act?
People are a product of their environment and experiences, but of course SRK and Capcom know this well lol.
but people forget about Sean. he’s mixed too, “Black” and Japanese. and if you really anything about how people look that are mixed is that you could still look like your full honkey when your father is darker than Charlie Murphy. ask my uncle. if you didn’t know any better you’d think he was full white but he’s not. my dad has the same parents but he’s more darker. he does’nt look like he’s even a half n half.
but yeah, I still think duds is Black but not as black as say Dee Jay. He’s mixed like me but more of a Sand Nego with a splash of Fish n Chips white.
He has no set race but they took some traits from different boxers. If you ask me, I think he’s black and Spanish. Spanish can have dark complications as well. But now you throw some Indian in the mix. Idk. But seeing his boxer background, I’d say Spanish or black because those are the most prolific races in boxing and I don’t recall seeing too many Indian boxers.
