The fact of the matter is that “cheapness” is a concept that only scrubby players are concerned with.
Neither, the 3rd option which some don’t want to admit exists: Cable is simply cheap and overpowered in some ways.
Now i’ve been maining lower tiers for a while, and am used to being very creative with mindgames, silly tactics and sheer willpower. So maybe that paid off but not by much though.
Wow talk about extremes. So any cable that is unable to handle ANYTHING, “sucks”? ok.
No, he was a good player. However as scrubby as my cable is, i guess i played it smart…
Rogue is not cheap, because she has to be in your face the whole time to make that happen. Can’t destroy the other team from across the screen. Definitely at least a bit more skill involved as well.
I’ve beaten plenty of decent Rogue with a lot less effort than it would take to beat a decent cable.
I can respect a good magneto, he takes way more skill and practice to play. Unlike Cable, not just any fool can pick him up and wreck havoc.
I’m doing a better job than mixup at least.
Yeah i know skill is all that matters for the true players, heart of the cards, blah ,blah, etc. I know the drill lol.
The reality is, with some match-ups it really is just like bringing a sword to gunfight sometimes.
you need to read some domination 101 4 scrubs
^^ Once again presenting no counter argument whatsoever, and basically making a fluff post. If you’re ok with that…
Also no need to talk it personally, just stating my views. However, you do no good for yourself by being unable to offer up a defense of any kind.
Whats your gamer tag true grave? id like to play you against my team scrub and msp and test out some of your theory and skill.
lol so because cable can hit you across the screen is what makes him cheap, not the damage or the combos?
i love when people imprint their own beliefs on things like this. “i dont like it, so its cheap”
don’t hurt em!!!
I don’t think true grave paid his cable bill this month… and its time to collect son!
is cable cheap? the answer to your question is in the answer to this question. Do aliens exist?
Once you find out if aliens exist, you will have your answer.
I’ve already detailed that in my basic description. Big damage, range, and low risk.
Feel free to explain to me why he isn’t cheap then.
Answer to you post in bold…
btw, what team was he using and what is your team?
Eh whatever, tired of arguing this. But hey, at least i gave it shot though unlike mixup.
So in closing:
Ok fine cable is not cheap, he is a perfectly balanced character and not overpowered in the least, any recent newcomers who can pick him up and give experienced players somewhat of a challenge are just naturally talented in their own right, those who main cable don’t have to feel guilty as they owe all their victories to 110% skill and aren’t in denial, the concept of cheapness does not exist, etc.
Edit: Oh and evidently I’ve tons of untapped potential by the way i was able to destroy a player of higher skill(or so i thought!) with basic cable junk. Such mad skills i didn’t know i had until now thanks to this thread…
~TG, wowsers! :looney:
This was written specifically for your mentality, you should read the entire series…
Maybe later. Anyhow, no offense was intended to you(or anyone here) btw, just expressing my views on the subject is all. If you disagree thats cool.
~TG, i’m out.
So what no games? Hell Ill even throw in my low tiers( which are no good and i suffer against zoning teams badly) against your untested scrubclops to see what you got. Then again every time you keep posting you sound more and more like you don’t know what you are talking about.
To stay on topic cable is not cheap. As mostly everybody knows he is limited a lot unlike the other god 3 due to mobility. Yes he does control the space directly in front of him with ahvb but thats only with meter. Also this is against medium level players. You can’t get top tier players to throw out random shit to magically ahvb it. You have to work at it for them to make a mistake and when you do you better be on that trigger. If you are in the least way a bit repetitive against a good mags or storm, one blink there goes your cable.
You (True Grave) seem more impressed with what looks to be flashy rushdown but is prolly not. Hell anyone can beat a good player with random rushdown for a little bit until the other person adapts. I’m going out on a limb here and say that you prolly only focus on your offense. Have you ever tried to analyze your own match during gameplay? As in the moment its happening? Broke it down to smaller elements. Like how your movement and positioning effect whats going on?
This thread has me running through ranked mode running scrub/clops and play hella lame just to piss peeps off lol.
true grave is an idiot, I remember this guy from the mvc2 section a few years back. Only an idiot would assume cable is easy to play. @ low level, execution per execution he is the easiest to play but when you reach high level play, even sentinel can eventually give cable trouble. There are quite a few tournament players telling a non tournament player that he’s wrong.
How big is your ego when you’re a terrible @ a game and won’t listen to players who know what they’re talking about?
who the fuck did you beat to make you think that?
rofl!!!
The lesson here? new players should read domination 101 articles before making crazy claims that are completely worthless advice!
I try to only use cable against a Sentinel because i never took time to actually learn to play sentinel
Sorry to butt into this conversation, but:
^This says it all. If he’d just play Cable long enough, he’d come to know full well his limitations and weaknesses, and why this entire paragraph is true. Cable may be easy to learn, but playing him against the other god tier characters is difficult… so incredibly difficult.
Graduating from Cable to Storm turns Team Scrub into something much more versatile.
