Wow, are you saying that the only way to beat cheating is to cheat yourself, so that in the end everyone just cheats?
Rip said the pad ports lagged on the machine and hurt his play, so so much for that.

Trolling? We’ve already gone over this.
It’s like this:
Is playing the Mishimas in TTT2 cheating because they’re better than just about everyone else, or is it because the Mishimas are available to everyone and the only reason you don’t play Mishima is by choice that they aren’t banned.
If you say Mishimas aren’t cheating, how is Hit Box any different? Let’s just assume that Hit Box is better than everything else and makes you godlike in 1 day (which it isn’t, and I challenge any of you to pick up Hit Box in a day and see how well it goes for you), they’re available to everyone and they don’t break the game, you’re still doing every input manually. It’s not cheating, it’s picking top tier, just a top tier controller instead of a top tier character.
You choose not to play top tier because that is your preference, or you play top tier because you want to maximize your chances of winning. There is no turbo on a Hit Box, there are no macros, there’s nothing but human ability and skill being used for a controller that was specifically designed for fighting games and only fighting games.
I think a better solution would be to not reward Mishimas with the best moves in the game just because they are hard to do.
There’s a NorCal guy that plays HitBox, but that’s the extent of it I’ve seen in the wild.
While I think the HitBox video is bad ass and SOCDs are insanely broken (in theory), I still don’t see a reason to ban them until someone has given a reason to do so. I have and always will live by “Anything that can be abused, will be abused,” but no one is stepping up to the plate.
It’s difficult to abuse something that cost upwards of $160, that’s a bit of an investment even for hardcore FG’ers that don’t have jobs.
So you’ll ban it despite some “hardcore FG’ers” saved and bought for it?
 Well, does anyone here have the stones to get a HitBox and destroy their local scene with one?
I want to see some crispy ass movement and more electricity than a Christmas tree!
<< I am a Hit Box user and my main game is Tekken >>
I am a Tekken veteran who plays on Hit Box. The Hit Box guys mean well, but much of the tricks they come up with are simply not practical in an actual game. Just frames are only made easier from a neutral position, but movement is so important that that benefit only helps in combos. The backdash canceling method of holding a directional down is a nice trick, but Tekken movement is a flowing dance of all types of movement. Therefore, having a fast backdash doesnt mean anything if you cannot transition easily and quickly.
I have played Tekken for almost a decade and I have been a Hit Box user for a year. Trust me when I say that, Hit Box makes some things easier, but much is made harder. It is easier to learn the concept of movement and just frames, but mastering them takes longer because it is no longer muscle memory, you have to actually press each precise directional. It really is like going from a guitar to drums, and surely some of you have at least played RockBand to know which one is commonly harder to play. Only thing that is made easier is the precision of your actions, nothing more. In Tekken it is easily to mess up on Hit Box, because there are lots of diagonals. Which means you have to often press two directional based buttons to do so and that opens a lot of room for errors that you have to practice against.
My work is done here. Get a Hit Box if it is something you want. I really enjoy using it myself.
thanks for your input. Like you said I imagine the game would be harder in some respects. For one, I would have a hard time doing king’s giant swing or any move that requires a half circle motion. I can’t really see the benefit of using hitbox for most of the cast either. What would be the point of using hitbox for characters like ling and jack? The benefit of using hitbox to me looks like easier mastery of mishimas and I would like to see what level they can take it to. Even without dancing around and side stepping you can play a deadly game just moving back and forward, in fact, many top players in the TTT1 days only using forward and back movements and totally neglected side step.
Pixel, have you tried playing mishimas with your hitbox?
I play Mishimas sometimes, but I personally do not like them because they are not very open to creative thinking. You do what you are supposed to do and really nothing else. I can do many of the not so easy Mishima combos. Be it controller, arcade stick or Hit Box I can nail electrics one right after another. I am not a Mishima player, so I do not aim to do one hundred electrics in a row, but I can nail ten in a row pretty easy.
I myself play a team of Xiaoyu & Ganryu. No Hit Box specific benefits, I just like characters that I can be really creative with. My reasons for getting Hit Box was to stop paying $20 for a new stick for my arcade stick every six months (you get good at Tekken movement, sticks don’t last long), and for health reasons because my left hand often hurts a lot when I play on pad or stick now.
I, too, use a HitBox and I play (mostly) everything. I play more Tekken and SC5 than anything else though. It’s true that it does make some things easier, but it also makes some things more difficult. Like RECESSIONTIME and 9thpixel mentioned, half circles are a bit harder especially if the game requires that you input them perfectly. I can’t play on a DPad or an arcade stick nearly as effectively as a HitBox though.
If the HitBox truly was cheating, more people would be winning tournaments with them. You should all realize, by the way, that a DPad can do all this too. Don’t believe me? Try holding one direction on the analog stick and pressing the dpad in the opposing direction and see what happens. Sure its not that comfortable to do, but all your fears about the HitBox are actually possible on that thing that comes with your console.
 So I more or less have become unable to use my left wrist and forearm for intense activity for a while not and decided I would invest in the HitBox for my gaming.
Luckily for me, I have a pocket Heihachi and the HitBox just came in today. Some thoughts. All of this is disregarding the time it takes to get used to the new control scheme, which may differ between players, and which is something I’m still adjusting to.
Things like movement become much easier. Depending on your hand size, grip/finger strength, 1P side may become more bearable for people who are really frustrated on 1P. I have ladyfingers so playing too much on 1P with backdashing and such will wear me out after a while. I’ve been stretching before I play and doing left hand grip strength exercises for a while, so hopefully I can shore up my strength in that hand to be able to use my hand more extensively and for longer periods of time.
Obviously command inputs become much much easier. I can see problems arising if you have a significant height/angle difference between the tips of your digits on your left hand; the difference between my left middle finger and left index finger isn’t too big, but it can still make hitting diagonals difficult if you’re not making an extra effort to press down evenly. Being aware of what all your fingers is doing is very key; it’s oddly mentally taxing at first because even PC gamers can have their fingers at the ready without needing to mentally keep tabs on them (did that make sense?).
Now, that being said, people who are not a threat will definitely not be able to become one overnight or even over a week with this. It’s a lovely machine, but it doesn’t augment fundamentals. It does augment execution, which is a godsend for some players, but you will still get beaten (and very thoroughly so) if you don’t know what you’re doing (even if knowing HOW do to it becomes easier). Even SOCDs are not TERRIBLY out of line, even though I personally make it a point not to use them since I consider it actual cheating; players will have to mentally and physically grind out SOCD inputs, but that’s just another exercise in muscle memory, so I can’t even say that it uses energy to think about and implement if the player has been practicing.
The people this will really help are people who may be inconsistent with inputs or lazy with inputs–lazy meaning they drag on certain parts of a gate or don’t hit certain parts of a gate without extreme effort. If you’ve been playing in the arcades for 20 years, you most likely have gates down to a science along with above average to strict movement technique and probably could benefit from this with respect to how it helps with timing your inputs with button presses, which can be very helpful with some characters. If you haven’t really been grinding disciplined movement on a lever/gate, this may help because you obviously have a smaller “spectrum of movement” to worry about…you have cardinal directions, essentially; however, the adjustment from one vehicle for movement (a lever) to four (your fingers) will take some time and practice.
HitBox for Tekken seems great if you need it, okay if you want it, but it may not be what you’re looking for if you need a power level boost. I know the “argument” has been asleep for a while, but I wanted to be someone who posted in here regularly who could offer mostly unfiltered statements regarding my experience. If anybody has any questions, I’ll be happy to answer as I get more and more situated with the HitBox.
I asked a friend to try the EWGF on his Hitbox : he didn’t have much success, so if you think you’ll be able to master the move just by using Hitbox, you’ll have a rude awakening.
By the way, people don’t play Mishimas because of preferences, but because they are fucking hard to master. And after all those years of training and dedication, you get destroyed by stupid Bears. Food for thought :

TTT2 must be the most balanced iteration of the franchise. You can’t get away by picking Top Tiers, every character got some stupid shit that can destroy you.
 YO DAMN @ 18:00 LOL these bears
Geez that dude makes the bears look S tier. Just whooping mishima ass all over the screen
