<br><div>What about him?</div>
You guys were talking about people that could have done Mandarin if they hadn’t gone the whitewash route.<br>
I don’t see how it matters since he was cast and the movie already made.

the movie is fucking done by now…I am sure<br>
Considering the middle eastern vibe that they established in Iron Man 1, the MCU’s version of Mandarin fits perfectly.
Danny Trejo should have been Mandarin.<div><br></div><div>I’m partly joking and partly serious…</div><div><br></div><div>I mean he plays EVERY ethnicity except black typically - though I’m sure if I look hard enough I can find him playing a black dude.</div><div>- :bluu:</div>
^ that kinda make sense actually. but they wanted someone with better acting skill or something. <br><br>guy pearce is baws too. <br><br><br>anyway I didn’t watch the oscar last night. hope argo didn’t win. that movie is a really long episode of 24 WITHOUT bauer power.<br><br>
Heartbreaker armor bitches!!!<div><img src=“https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/406342_10151344690755017_129947941_n.jpg”><br></div>

Hahaha! That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw this. Is this a legit poster?? What’s up with the dragon-embroidered camo pants?<br>

TBH I don’t think Asians haven’t really advocated themselves into the “lead actor” industry well enough. And 99% of Asians I’ve come across IRL have perpetuated a stereotype said about them. Weird, rude, reclusive, etc. How is that Hollywood’s fault? Let’s stop being PC and say it like you see it.<br>

i think his view is hella slighted but the one thing i think is true is they havent advocated themselves the way blacks and hispanics did before the 2000’s. Its really a recent notion that the asians have heavily pushed…not to say they werent pushing before just not enough to get equality in hollywood. Asians gotta learn to white guilt the man, we bring up slavery…you bring up railroads and helping building american along side blacks. Alot of what blacks used to get themselves asserted on tv can apply to asians…who i believe out number us in america.
I remember Justin Lin saying in an interview about Better Luck Tomorrow that there “needed to be more discourse.” Sure, discourse is good. But then you can’t just say that expect people to be automatically compelled to do so. There needs to be some kind of incentive. That’s something that more people need to understand.<br>

No. <div><br></div><div>HAHAHAHA</div><div><br></div><div>no. </div></div>

having trouble confirming that…for some reason they combine and asians with hispanics in the stats i see.
lol wtf is going on in this thread<div><br></div><div>and as a white person, I think blacks and asians go above and beyond in perpetuating stereotypes. </div>
There needs to be a movie where a lead actor who’s Asian does things that’s beyond anything relating to the genre of America’s culture of secret racism. It’s really not that difficult at all coming with a story that showcases something noble in the main protagonist (with incredible disregard for race–we all get that feeling that we could be a martyr sometimes), in my mind. Maybe a director like Justin Lin could do it but I get the feeling he’d tie in some kind of racial issue; we definitely don’t need more sophistication on the subject. We need someone with vision beyond that. Whoever makes this movie will be hailed as a genius.<br>
