Iron Man 3, now with more raps by Gwyneth Paltrow

they literally made the mandarin and the dragons, the same person.

and da gawd said…“we’ll call it a metaphor n shit”

There is no way that a single movie is going to cover every single panel of a comic, especially an arc that goes on for several months. You can look at the One Piece movies where a few of the later ones were basically condensing 10-15 hours of anime to a 90-120 minute movie. Sure some of the filler parts were cut, but so where several canon parts, or was rearranged in order to make everything fit in a short movie. Doing something like Bleach might be ok because you can summarize each chapter in a sentence or two cause so little goes on. But in order to faithfully do it panel by panel it’d have to be a multipart movie. And most casual movie goers aren’t going to come back 2 more times because they didn’t finish the arc in the first 2-3 hours.
Meanwhile the LoTRs is a different medium where they could get away with that.

What about LOTR?

It was adapted word for word over 3 movies and no one had a problem with that. Besides extremis wasn’t even that long of a arc to faithfully recreate panel for panel. If it’s something like remender’s uncanny x-force run then that’s a different story…on that note uncanny x-force needs to become a 2-season animated series yesterday.

Exactly. You can’t surgically transplant one medium into another. It doesn’t work like that and never will. It’s also artistically stifling for the people on the crew making the movie. There is no point in adapting something if you’re just gonna cover it word for word, line for line, page for page. It’s redundant and pointless and doesn’t bring anything new to the work.

Even LOTRs movies aren’t page for page recreations of the books.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

you’re joking right? that got hacked alottttttt. ex:elf bitch didnt save frodo from the skelator king crew

Just so you know, you’re completely fucking wrong about this.

Oscars don’t lie…

I guess it’s a good thing no one is talking about the Oscars then.

do you even read what you type?

So a movie that won multiple oscars somehow failed…that’s what I was getting at.

Well that’s not what we where talking about AT ALL. None of us where talking about it being a success or not. Scroll up and read again REALLY carefully.

Have you even read LOTR? I highly doubt you have.

your point was about word for word adaptions…and lotr had that. This sir is a flat out lie, fallacy, myth perpetuating by your crazy shit ass mind. They redid the movies, added stuff, took away stuff, and flat out changed scenes. You realize parts of the movie were influenced by those old cartoons right? thats not what we call word for word adaptions.

I didn’t read the books but from what I’ve been told it was as word for word as you can get. Maybe some omissions but 95% if the books made it in screen.

Troll confirmed, move on niggas!

Well you’re wrong. like…hugely wrong.

shut yo bitchass up…trollin ass nigga.

GTFO Troll, I’m guessing that you think that the Hobbit was a word by word adaptation…

WTF…alrigh fine I admit I’m not the authority on the LOTR I’m just going by what other people told me. From what I’ve heard from fans it’s as close to a word by word/scene by scene adaptation from book to movie as you will get.

Well those people are morons because there’s stuff that happens in the movies that’s completely different from books, like the above Fodo rescue by Arwen. In the books Fodo is sent across the river alone on Glorfinde’s horse. Also Arwen didn’t make the river flood, Elrond had arranged for the river to flood when the Nazgûl entered the water.

In the movie Arwen does all this single handedly.

Then there’s the encounter with Shelob happening at the end of the second book Two Towers, and not the middle of the third one like it was in the movie.

Not to mention the books don’t have 25 fucking endings.

Could go on all day honestly.

You. Get the fuck off my internet.
