It would take them like 3 seconds to cast a real Asian mandarin because the Ten Rings shit was established in the first movie. Just have them be like “I am the real Mandarin, the Ten Rings are real and you are fucked Mr. Stark” and have him fuck everyone up and be a serious badass.
I thought it was great because they didn’t waste a movie on a half assed Mandarin and it was actually a really funny reveal. Could the whole plot not have been in the movie? Sure, but it actually made sense from the controlling both sides POV and now they have a reason to use the REAL mandarin in the fourth one. Daboog knows, it’s not even hard.
I really enjoyed the Pierce action scenes even though if he was getting that hot his clothes probably should have melted off, although they were probably special AIM fibers, so there, I fixed that plot hole already.
Good movie, good job Marvel. Thor should be pretty dope with Alan whats his face directing, he does tons of mad men episodes.

As long as there is fighting with giants and shit and lots of yelling and magic, I don’t care. Just have that dope Hammer noise as much as possible. If that noise is going on a lot that means sick shit is happening. Basically every time it happened in Avengers I was like “This is the best”

“Lazy and disrespectful to the core audience”. lol. Core audience who thought it was acceptable that Marvel pretty much wrote Tony Stark as a literal mustache twirling villain in Civil War? Who was a staunch libertarian all his comicbook life, was always fighting against the government and SHIELD to stay out of his business yet he would do the things the did in that arc including build a prison? and worse, have the comic-book “core audience” accept it as if it is valid and reasonable characterization? Where was the outrage then when they were committing that to paper and pretty much the actual 616 Marvel canon? If you weren’t outraged then, you have no right to be outraged about this change they did to the Mandarin.
All the arcs within the IM movieverse tied up neatly and they had plenty of details in each action sequence how capable Tony Stark was in and out of the armor. How is that lazy writing? Each of those was well-choreographed and mapped out. If they were lazy, they would’ve just shaken the camera to simulate “action”. Lazy writing would be having Tony climb out of a pit and get back half-way around the world to save his city when he didn’t have a dime to his name and not knowing where he is.
The good news on the Black Panther front is Marvel Studios already has an actor in mind to play him…Chadwick Boseman who played Jackie Robinson in 42. Damn good actor.
I’d speculate that he was drunk/on drugs and/or thought that it was blanks and a blood packet.
I thought the final post-battle scene on the docks was kinda cheesy crappy because hey wasn’t shrapnel what got you in this mess in the first place. A good movie, but the random product placements (Sun Oracle for five minutes) and random nods to markets (Iron Kid!) was kind of disconcerting. I enjoyed the movie anyways, though, so good work there.
Looking forward to Kat Dennings as Thunderstrike. Or Beta Ray Betty.
Also, you know dennings breasts are going to be covered like in the first Thor movie. We can’t have her up staging the flat chested leading actress can we?
I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was the 2nd best one behind Iron Man 1. The Mandarin thing was disappointing, but Killian’s villany made up for the letdown. Overall, not a terrible #3 in a franchise that usually will start seeing fatigue at #3.
some of these easter eggs are interesting and I seriously didn’t even notice them. I will have to rewatch the endcredits again and read through all those credits to find some of those easter eggs though (for those of you too lazy to click the link, the end credits was purposely long, and a TON of the names and jobs and info is completely fake)
