I know this is an old post but I read that Whiplash will have a whole set of armor by the finale of the movie.
I don’t think there is one. As far as I remember, Whiplash’s character is just a villian, but it seems he gets his hands on some of Stark’s technology and uses it for his own suit. Justin Hammer is involved (in the sequal) who was Tony’s nemesis for a while, so he probably got a hold of the technology and either gave it/or was stolen by Whiplash.
I could be wrong but I suspect this is the angle they’re going with.
Yup he does. He and Hammer team up. So he’ll probably be the Crimson Dynamo.
I’m so glad that they aren’t shying away from costume design. I mean Scarlett looks like the Black Widow. No bullshit. Those famous bracelets of hers are killer. Can’t wait to see a trailer now.
I’m trying to figure out how’d I miss that ScarJo was playing Black Widow. Usually stuff like that would pop up at atleast one of the places I visit before I start seeing pics of the character. Especially with the way the net loves ScarJo. Ain’t nobody said a word.
Actually that’s all everyone was talking about, considering Natalie Portman was announced at the same time a few days ago as a cast member for “Thor”. Most of the news about Portman’s role was just included within the Scarlett Johansson headline.
he will definitely be held back (fully) till the third movie. They will hint to it a little in the next movie and then leave us with a cliff hanger at the end…(my speculation)
Third movie HAS to be about Tony fucking up and Rhodes stepping in as War Machine. Because this one won’t be that heavily focused on his drinking problem. But I think this movie will finally push him over the edge into that direction. Also the Avengers flick could have something bad occur that he’s responsible for. I bet the third Iron Man movie will be the best because it’ll be the first time we see a hero really broken down in a comic-book movie. Plus people love the character and Downey knows how to bring pain into his roles. A heavy burden that only he can carry.
Well they got a taste of hero breakdown with the spider-man films…

But yeah, if Faverau keeps to the comic book canon, at least enough so we know it’s Iron-Man, and not “A movie involving characters from the Iron Man universe, but with a plot completely different from the original comics we took the chars from”, and keeps up the level of acting from the first one, I am so seeing this. Twice.

ain’t no one here gonna fault you for seeing this movie multiple times. I saw IM twice and that was once more than any movie my wife has ever been willing to watch again in theaters, and I still watch the DVD at least twice a month.
If it weren’t for TDK coming out 2 months after IM’s release, IM would still be the best goddamn comic book movie ever made. IMO, of course.
So I guess i’ll keep the updates rolling then. Apparently according to the Iron Man 2 panel at Comi-con we are indeed going to get War Machine in Iron Man 2.

Sounds like a bit of a clusterfuck with this movie but then again it’s not.
Stark, Pepper, Iron Monger, Terrorist, Rhodes = Iron Man
Stark, Pepper, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, Rhodes, Black Widow, Fury = Iron Man 2
So really two extra characters and I don’t expect Fury to be that involved.
it’s funny that the muthafucker is playing fury when in ultimates volume 1 nick fury was asked who he would want to play him in a movie he said samuel, they also made a robert downey jr. crack too.
