I was joking; I haven’t even pre-ordered it yet (not sure about CE or pre-order gems).
I was hoping there’d been something on the streams. There was some footage but it’s very laggy which is a real pity because it seems like a headbutt combo occurs.
Isn’t that what the whole game’s about? A Zangief without any combo ability would be dead in the water in this game. Landing SPD isn’t going to cut it.
I hope he’s got some no-meter options.
I don’t believe so, due to it being part of the launcher combo. I think I saw it used in a video but I’m not even sure how many builds ago that was.
Feel free to correct me!
So did anyone watch the GamesRadar stream?
There was no fancy stuff really but it was nice to see some combos, even if they seemed straight out of SF4. The interesting bit at the end to me though was using the lariat, being blocked but tagging Sagat in to finish the game. I’m wonder how safe that is.
RBG seems just a little better in terms of speed than in AE. It reminds me a bit of the older games and getting super armour from the charge is rather nice. The two together make it look a lot more dangerous.
My questions now are how long do you need to charge for the armour and what sort of tricks can you pull off with EX GH or following up a headbutt.
Any guesses on whether any of Zangief’s aerial moves stuff Hugo’s Shootdown Backbreaker such as the headbutt or splash? It looked like that could ruin the days of those jump-happy giefs.
did you see the games radar stream archive…guy was wrecking everyones crap with just running bear grab
at the 50 min mark if you go a little before he shows the running bear grab armor charge in training mode.
ugh watching twisted jago stream larriet dosnt go through fireballs…i guess your going to have to focus cancel running bear grab to get in…
So uh… what did anyone think of Aquasilk on the stream last night? There was also some fooling about with Zangief versus Hugo a bit later.
What shocked me was that lariat basically sent the opponent to the other end of the screen. I also saw gief getting hit by fireballs while attempting to lariat. I’m hoping those were badly timed quick lariats though.
in the corner you can combo lariat…i thought aquas gief was ok…once he got that knock down he went to work and did most of the work with gief…if he gets better with his secondary he will be a force. but it pretty much reafirmed my belief that sagat/sim is going to still be a huge problem
also crouching heavy isnt safe!!!..what the hell is up with that.
gief got solid shit, but its gonna take time to learn how to play with him in the game engine. Aqua was trying to play it like sf4, but he was finding out nice shit. LI Joe just zoned him out lol, but at least he can tag out for a better matchup. I think the roll mechanic kinda ruins shit for Giefs mixup though.
Aquasilk didn’t look that great in that stream, but I think that had more to do with the Sagat he was playing. That looks to be a REALLY bad matchup, no surprise there.
