iPhone/iPod Touch gaming

Saw a new commercial just for touch and iPhone games. A couple look pretty interesting but go by a little quickly. Does anyone know the names of the first three? The one with the tiny guy on the baseball looks interesting. Sorry if any of these are common knowledge. I don’t follow up on the apps too much and the app store is kinda messy to just browse through without knowing what you’re looking for.

This game is actually really good.

Anyway, right now i’m playing Star Wars: The force unleashed. It’s pretty fun and keeps me entertained.

Also, Kroll is an ok game, i guess it’s some sort of beat 'em up with god of war esque boss battles.

Best tower defense game out there is that Final Fantasty: chrystal shit. It’s noticabley more difficult than FieldRunners but not as pretty or cool. It’s just really really hard.

Bomber online is good too. It’s an online bomber man clone, so you can’t really go wrong with that.

Some other noteworthy games are
Frogger
toybot diaries
time crisis
guitar band
reign of swords
ishoot

I still have alot more games that i still haven’t played. If i come across anything noteworthy i’ll def. post up.

I"m not sure about the first two but the third one they show, where the guy starts tilting his ipod 360 degrees, that’s Rolando.

How is the Bomber single player?
And I’m going to look into SW TFU.

If you plan on playing single player you might as well just get the official bomberman game.
It’s actually pretty fun if you can get used to the control scheme.

Also, ExZeus is the best railshooter on the iphone/touch.

heres a question. i ran the battery out on my ipod touch, i went and plugged it in. and it didnt turn on. tried different cables, different computers, the dc adaptor. nothing. so what the fuck.

You sure it ran out of battery?

Hell yeah, indie shooters for the win! I’ll have to check out this ExZeus as well, get my rail shooter on.

yeah, it was at 20%, but I used it anyway, it was never a problem before. I laid in bed and listened to music till it turned itself off. I took the headphones off and put it on my night table. the next night I brought it to my computer and hooked it up and nothing.

Try a hard reset (Hold the lock button at the top and the home button at the same time for 10 seconds).

I downloaded over the weekend and gotta say it’s pretty addictive. I was looking for a game that was cheap, easy, and fun at just under five bucks. Anyways, I was quite surprised with it. It’s a pretty simple shoot 'em up with generic level and enemy design, and has the same song on loop. What it lacks in visual depth it makes up for in difficulty and weapon choices. Zombieville is a sidescroller that allows you to go forward or back track. You fire at the enemy by tapping the bottom of the screen. The zombies attack from either walking towards you off screen or from digging up out of the ground. To get more weapons or health you kill the zombies and enter houses by tapping on the door when near. You get cash only from killing the zombies, but it is random whether you get cash or ammo when entering a house. The lead off weapon is a pistol, from the end of the first stage you can upgrade. The weapon selection/upgrade tree looks like this:
Pistol->Pistol with scope->Magnum
Shotgun->Pistol Grip Pump(on my lap at all times)->Tactical Shotgun purchasing the first shotgun unlocks the machine pistol
Machine pistol->Tommy Gun->Mini Gun
Grenade Launcher->Rocket Launcher->?(haven’t selected the rocket launcher so I don’t know if there is an upgrade past this) buying the grenade launcher unlocks the chainsaw
Chainsaw->Flame Thrower->BFG? (died before I could purchase)

Level 24 with 428 zombie kills btw!

That looks like mad fun! I’m defiantely going to check it out.

Yeah, it’s stupid addictive for such a simple little game. I read on the app description that the developers are supposed to be adding dificulty settings and the ability to pause which will be a big plus.

I just purchased ZombieVille USA and I highly recommend it. Lt_Cool_sanders did a good little review off it 2 posts up and it’s now on sale for 0.99$ Go and grab it before it goes back up in price.

I also got Sky Force Reloaded on sale for 0.99$. It’s a traditional SHMUP which uses touch functionality. You’re constantly shooting so you only need to worry about movement. It’s defiantely fun though nowhere near the top of good quality shooters. But for a dollar? why not.

I also downloaded the demo for Star Wars The Force Unleashed. Fun game but I don’t know if I’ll pay 6$ for it. The second it drops in price though I am all over it.
I wish there was an “On sale” section of the app store.

For the SHMUP fans, I highly recommend rRootage. It’s a port of the freeware shmup by Kenta Cho. You can find it in the app store, for free!

Pulling a bit of a Rise From Your Grave on this thread cause I just got my iphone a few days ago. I haven’t tried many apps but I’ve been using Check Please, Drinking Game (Lite) and Drinks Free a lot.

Did not know about amazon mobile and a few others. I’ll make sure to get those.

Does **rRootage **still have no sound?

I enjoyed **Zombieville **until I got fucken owned by a mob lol. Metal Gear Touch is pretty good; personally I’m a little annoyed with the controls. If anything, it’s a must buy if you’re a MGS fan.

There are a few games now, that are tied to your Facebook account. **Scrabble **is one of them, some BrainAge kind of game is another.

edit - Valaris, I’m surprised you like Time Crisis, that shit has some of the sloppiest controls ever. Unless they patched it.

Cooking Mama is also good! Exactly like the DS version.

Rolando got an update a few weeks ago that added something like 10 new levels and there are several more new level updates on the way. You gotta love NgMoco.
At this point I’m waiting for Force unleashed to drop because it’s not worth 6$ but it’s kinda fun nevertheless.

And for zombieville the easy mode let me get to levels I hadn’t reached before. I got to level 27 with like 800 something kills. My best advice in that game: The shotgun is your best goddamn friend until you get the plasma cannon.

Mario type platformer

1)Bounce On

best platformer so far that is the closest to mario. its addicting level design is pretty well done and some levels are very very challenging

How to Play: You tilt your screen left or right to move and tap the screen to jump.
fairly simple might take a few minutes to get used to

Must have for Mario fans

2)The Quest

if you are a fan of morrowind elder scrolls type games, then this is the game for you. Its one of the deepest games I have every played on the Iphone.
the graphics are good like old doom style, maps are huge (I haven’t finished yet)
level up system is like any other rpg

It has everything from stat points several classes alchemy side quests deep well thought out plot caves dungeons, enchanting great dialogue fucking everything a good RPG has.

I got warts from the whore house (no nudity)

its no picnic, if you dont gear up well lvl up carry pots or learn spells, you will not get that far.

awesome game.

3)Biggest Brain.

For the Brain Age Fans, finally a game for us.

This game is BETTER than Brain age Imo. Has better memory, math, analyzing games and is more appealing. really well made with nice colours simple interface
and it is really just plain fun.

and get this, It has Achievements!!

you can also upload your score to facebook and compare with other people and junk like that.

 1. Touch physics

Very innovative and simple to play.

your goal is to get a ball from point A to Point B by drawing objects to push or lift over or past an obstacle.

it uses gravity and weight depending on your object you draw to calculate how far the ball rolls.

ok Im not explaining it correctly, but give this game a shot.
it has 50 levels and is very addictive.

demos are always available so dont take my word for it.

anybody try metal gear on this thing yet?

I don’t know how you guys feel about jailbreak and unlocking iPhones/itouches, but I bought a 2nd gen iPhone off of ebay and jailbroke and unlocked it and I’m on t-mobile working perfectly…I also found a way to get apps free which involves a little bit of networking and hacking into your iphone/itouch…just wanted to know who was into it or not…

By the way, Katamari and MGS Touch are badass…
