iPhone/iPod Touch gaming

I haven’t had any problems whatsoever with the Zenonia D-pad, then again Gamevil knew about the problems with the touch pad so rectified it with other methods.

Peggle is $.99 cents right now in the App Store.

DAMMIT WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HERE READING THIS?! GO GO GO GO GO GO GO

New Doom game coming out next month.

Holy fuck WOW. It was worth it for 5$, it sure as shit is a steal for $1.

Peggle 1 dollar holy crap.

Thx, the controls are pretty good. Moving your character with your thumb in the little circle was a pretty good idea.

Just got pocket God and field runners. Both are really good.
Tried peggle  EXTREME FEVER!

Peggle is quite possibly the best game ever invented. I play it at work in between jobs, I play it in the bathroom, I end up playing it on my xbox 360 when I can’t decide what ‘real’ game to play… Seriously. I don’t know how a game so simplistic in design can be so awesome.

There’s a game called A.D.D. thats looks like the impossible quiz that’s coming out soon…the impossible exam on the ipod sucks…

So did any of you guys update to the version 3.0?

I’m an iPod Touch user. It would cost me $10 to update to 3.0. Nah.

I am an Ipod Touch user. So will we have bluetooth connectivity if we upgrade? I think some of those features are sweet. I updated from the first generation lol.

No i’m still running 2.2.1 since i read last week that if i update it locks out all my jailbroken apps or something. I’ll wait till i can confirm that it’s safe to upgrade with no problems.

Well, after some reading, it seems like since I have the First Gen Ipod Touch, even if I upgrade to Ver 3.0, there won’t be any bluetooth for me. Sucks.

I’ve got the iphone so I went ahead and upgraded. I found the 3.0 firmware before release so of course my curiosity was piqued. So far so good. Especially the whole being able to use the landscape keyboard in emails and text messages. The voice memo thing is aiight, but I don’t think I’ll ever use it. Though, I don’t think that comes with the touch firmware. I mean does the touch have a microphone? If so it probably does.

I recently picked up the MLB At Bat app and the ROTF prequel comics Alliance.

The MLB app is pretty sweet. Though, I gotta say I was suckered in by the short description in itunes that mentions you could watch games. What they fail to tell you until you open up the app to watch said games is that you can watch them on MLB.tv with a subscription. Anyways back to the app itself, it displays all the games being played present day. You can go back and view past games and you can go forward to see what’s coming up.

Audio-This feature allows you to listen in real time to the broadcast commentary for the game. The coolest thing about this is that you can choose which team’s commentators you want to listen to. So for example me being a Braves fan I can listen to Atlanta’s home radio station for the Braves.

In Game-While the game is going you can watch pitch by pitch accounts of what’s happening. This is done with a batter in the box shown from the catcher’s perspective allowing you to see the pitch placement. You also have a box score you can view.

Video-This feature allows you to see highlights and major plays shortly after they are made. There is video qeue for each game that you can view. Most are 30 seconds to a minute long.

There is probably a whole lot more to this app than what I’ve listed which makes it well worth the 9.99 price tag if you’re a baseball fan. I mostly bought it so my brother could use it because he’s a bigger fan than me. Being a casual fan I probably won’t use it too much. I’ll only be keeping up on the Braves and division leaders of interest.

Comic apps-These are pretty nice especially for .99 a piece. And considering comics go for upwards of 4-5 dollars on the rack now they’re a bargain. I purchased the four Alliance issues which I think are from the Autobot perspective, and after seeing the movie I don’t think I reallly need to buy the other four Defiance issues. However, if IDW starts putting out back issues I’m gonna be snapping up itunes cards like they’re crack. I really want to start reading me some of the All Hail Megatron issues, but since there is no comic shop around my area I don’t get to be cool like all the other nerds and by physical copies off the rack.

Oh, and not an app but I picked up NIN’s With Teeth album. Good stuff…real good stuff.

EDIT
@ Wilmer My phone is also jailbroken and I’m running the 3.0 firmware. No problems so far. The only app I had that isn’t updated yet is vwallpaper. Other than that it’s pretty solid. I also picked up the new NES3 upgraded emulator which runs much better than it’s predecessor. Hardly any lag at all gameplay side, audio suffers hiccups here and there but no biggie. You can also use it in landscape mode and the d-pad has been tweaked so it’s much easier to use.

Wait, there is a mic that you can use? I think it might be useful if you’re installing Skype. I need to see if that is available from the first gen Ipod Touch too.

Looks like for the touch you need to have the headphones with the mic built in. But I imagine any app the takes advantage of a mic could be used? I mean if you can use skype I would assume so. shrug

Trucall is an ipod touch application that allows you, if you have the microphone headset, to make free phone calls when you’re in a wifi hot spot.

Mass Effect: Galaxy just dropped to $2.99!

Yeah, I read over the new features and didn’t see anything worth spending $10 for.

Now I’m not advocating this in any way shape or form, but I’m telling you that you should NOT go to a torrent site and just download the update for free. That would be wrong and way too easy.

Lol at the hotgirls/naked app; installed it for fun and it wouldn’t work because their servers were being hammered by some hackers…at least that’s what the app tells you lol.

Right now, the only problem I have with 3.0 is that my battery dies in a few hours when not in use and my phone gets reeaalllly hot when I’m using/charging it; I’m not the only one since there’s like a ten page thread on the apple site about the same thing.
I got it sorted out by disabling the email (now set to fetch) & app push. Also had to reset my network settings and that seemed to have solved my battery and heat issues.

I want to get a 3gs just fo the camera lol. I’d use ‘find my iphone’ if it wasn’t $99 a year.

Games I’m playing atm: eliss, Oregon trail. I’d play Mass Effect if it was anything but a shooter
