Might be a total buzz kill for the Dubuque crew with this, I’m thinking of going on hiatus with Tuesday nights, got a good excuse though. Coming up at the end of March, I’m presenting my very own art show over at Loras College. I’ve been working as best as I can at making new pieces for the presentation and I feel any time I can dedicate towards working on it is time put to good use. Thing is, I’m a super procrastinator and I have the tendency to do anything non productive a lot. Therefore, in order to make better use of my time, I’m not coming to Tuesdays until April (until further notice).
One reason I see this is a big problem. Mike wants to run KOF. I like KOF. And from what I’ve seen, I might be one of 3 people in our group that actually wants to support it. So unless Alex, Olli, Jackie and the others give this a shot and keep playing it, I’m throwing a wrench into Mike’s plans. Sorry I didn’t say anything about it last Tuesday, I hope everything goes alright.
Used to have a different account but I lost the password I posted here a few times. Just wondering if any of you guys are going to UFGT8 in May and how you plan to get there. I really want to go since it would be my first major but im not sure how im gonna get there.
I think everyone will road trip someway, somehow. Iowa usually has good turnouts at Chicago majors, so I’m sure you can catch a ride with someone. Now that you’ve put it out there, start checking in here as we get closer to the date. I have a feeling no one has anything set in stone yet, lol.
I guess they are only using 360’s at UFGT8. Converters may need to be purchased.
Ironically, I DON’T need one this time BECAUSE it’s on 360. And I get to use the stick I like most (Hori EX2). So yeah. O’Doyle rules, etc., etc. 
James - No sweat. I’m not worried about a lack of interest in KOF. Like I said before, at worst, people can download the demo and have 7 characters to mess with, so no one has an excuse to not play the game outside of a hatred of 2D no-airdash fighters. If no one plays it for the month that we have it, then we won’t run it anymore. Problem solved.
With most games, XBOX won’t be a big deal, but Tekken is probably the scene with the most pad players. Having converters to convert PS2 to PS3 is bad enough; having to get one to convert PS to XBOX is gonna be a huge pain. If memory serves, there aren’t really any reliable converters out there. Might be a moot point for me, though, since I play SC on a pad and I’m sure everyone will be playing it on XBOX, which might make a converter almost necessary.
There’s one pretty reliable converter out there (tested, works, I own it). Two strikes against it, though. One, doesn’t work for MadCatz sticks. And, two, it switches the X and Circle buttons. No joke.
Slight problem - Might not be able to run KOF on this Tuesday. Depends on if the game gets here in time or not. If not…I’ll probably just run Arcana Heart 3 or HDR.
The top-rated converter for PS2 to PS3 is great (even has a PS button) but has a problem with inputs geeking out. For whatever reason, it’ll just start sending rapid inputs to the PS. Just shows how big a pain in the ass having multiple gaming systems/controllers is.
I was talkin’ about PS2/PS3 to 360.

Thanks SRK for not giving me proper notifications when someone posts in a watched thread. Well I’ve missed a lot of posts. Guess I better start checking everyday again, just in case SRK wants to be finicky again. Just a heads up, I probably won’t be able to make it to Joker’s. I got dates mixed up and I thought it was the 28th for some reason, now I realized it’s this weekend and I’m already scheduled to work Saturday. There is still hope though, I may be able to work something out with my schedule. I’m not gonna lie, I really wanna go. I haven’t been to a tourney since the Ames tourney at Pixels.
