First off, it was awesome to see some old faces from the old days at the tourney and hopefully we’ll see more entrants next week. GGs to Joel in Kururin with probably the closest set I’ve ever had in that game (6-5) and thanks to everyone who actually played the game. Probably my favorite profanity-inducing game of all-time. And, of course, good stuff to Bill for violating everyone with Team Viscant in MVC3 and to Blake for stalling Phoenix out for 40+ Marvel Seconds TWICE in the finals. We’re halfway done with the Versus Cup and even though I have a stupidly large lead in MVC3 it’s still anyone’s game if I start placing where I did last night and someone gets top 2 for the next six tournaments. The Random-Ass-Game Cup, however…well, it’s still a close race for 2nd. 
Next week’s secondary game is…
…Super Smash Brothers Melee: Fucking Quick Edition. 2 stock, 4 minutes, 2/3 matches (3/5 losers/grand finals), double-elim, no items, no pre-fight stage bannings. Winner keeps character, loser either picks a new character and takes a random stage (from, like, a lot of them) OR keeps their character and picks a new stage. Players can either agree on a first stage or it’s Pokemon Stadium. Banned stages are…you know what, fuck it. Hyrule, Great Bay, Yoshi 64, Big Blue, Ice Mountain, Brinstar Depths, Flat Zone. After that, do whatever the hell you want. Oh yeah, and Sudden Death IS ON. So if you somehow make a 2 stock match last 4 fucking minutes with runaway and somehow made it with a smaller percentage, congrats. Here are a bunch of fucking bombs.

There’s a place called Extreme PvP in the Cedar Rapids area. I don’t know if the place is still around anymore. The last time I went, I was still in high school.
