I’ll join in next time, too. Had I not been on overtime I would’ve been over earlier.
Bump yo.

I double post because I care.
Starting either this week or next week, I’ll be running MVC3 tourneys in Dubuque on Tuesday nights. Obviously I don’t expect many to show up outside of our regular locals if I run one this week or probably even next week, but I just want to throw that out there. Entry fees will probably be $3, with $2 for the pot and $1 for the venue/equipment.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled bionic arms.
This is sweet. I’ll show up if it doesn’t take too long.
AWRIGHT. Tourneys at Comic World are a go. Venue/Tourney info:
Place: Comic World, 4031 Pennsylvania, Dubuque, IA 52002
Time: 6:00 every Tuesday night, please try to arrive by 5:30 for warm-ups and sign-ups.
Fee: $3, with $2 for prize money and $1 for venue/equipment fund.
Format: Double-elimination unless we get 5 or less, then we’ll do round-robin/king of the hill. Best of 3 matches.
System: PS3. Bring your own controller, plz.
A note about the entry/venue fee/winnings: $1 of every entry fee will be put toward getting a monitor and eventually a dedicated setup for the tourney, as will my winnings if I place. If we end up with 6 or less people, it’ll be winner take all. More than that and top 3 will pay out. If there end up being enough complaints about it, I’ll change things, but that’s the plan. Dubuque once had a dedicated tourney scene and I’d like to see that happen again.
Any questions or concerns, you know how to get in touch with me.
Is this starting tomorrow?
Yup. Starts today.
Very nice. Definitely let us know what the turnout is like and how it goes.
Ahh, just like old times. Only thing missing is the loner playing Smash by himself.
Hogosha’s not going?
Holy shit why you gotta rule me so hard? ;_;
It’s all in love!
Ah, can’t make it this week. I’ll probably be there next week though.
Six people for a tourney with one day notice. Fun stuff and some REALLY close matches. Round Robin/King of the Hill Results:
1st - Hogosha (Ryu/Storm/Haggar)
2nd - MysticBill (She-Hulk/Dante/Taskmaster)
3rd - Olli (Wolverine/Zero/Taskmaster)
4th - Alex (Magneto/Tron/Chun)
5th - Chevy (Dante/Iron Man/Chun)
6th - DTJB (Super Skrull/Chun/Ryu)
Congrats to Bill for sweeping everyone during round robin. Seriously fun stuff.
A bit about the venue now that we’ve had a tourney: decent amount of space for two setups and we ran 20 matches in the matter of less than an hour and a half. Place is pretty dead on a Tuesday night so as long as we’re not yelling out a lot of profanity we’re pretty good. You can bring food and drink in, and there’s a sub place, a gas station, and a Dairy Queen next door. They also have cans of pop for 50 cents a can. Tourney was over tonight before 8 and we were allowed to play until 8:30. All in all, the venue worked pretty well.
And as far as the equipment fund, after our first night we have $11. A good start. I’ll update after every tourney with how much we earned/have total so people know.
This is not enough bionic arms.
When hype goes wrong.
Also, I play smash bros so if anyone wants to play it at a tourni and not feel alone I’ll play sb with you.
You know what I find stupid? I can’t find a single fucking arcade machine with a good fighter in Iowa. I want to move
