Iowa city fight club 2014: retro fighting game tournament

IOWA CITY FIGHT CLUB is a retro fighting game tournament that showcases the diverse history of the genre. We will be hosting a variety of games throughout the day as well as game giveaways and entry into future events. A $10 event fee will be collected at the door. Players may pay an additional $10 to be entered into ALL events and the final bracket to win the Grand Prize. Each tournament has an individual entry of $5. Come join us for the first real video game tournament at Game Geeks. We’ll be playing games, twitch steaming, eating pizza, and causing a ruckus. Stop by and join in the fun!

Tournament information
Entry into FIGHT CLUB is $10.
You may pay an additional $10 to be entered into ALL events and Grand Prize bracket.
Each tournament has a prize pool fee of $5. (Unless you paid the above $10)
Registration will end at 11:30 AM on February 28, 2014. Tournaments will begin at noon.
Check the Facebook page for individual tournament start times.
To register stop in to the store or rsvp at the tournament Facebook page.

Each event needs at least 8 entrants to fire.
Each match will be best 2 of 3 rounds. Each round will be best 2 of 3 fights.
Maps will be random unless otherwise noted.

Prize Support Information
Individual tournaments have a prize payout of 60%/30%/10%
Prize support will be scaled based on the number of entrants.
Grand prize bracket will be constructed from each event winner and players who paid the $20.
Grand prize title is TOP SECRET and will not be announced until the day of the tournament.
32 registered players needed for the Arcade cabinet to become available.

Hello, just found out about this. I see that you have a screen shot of Street Fighter 2 (looks like World Warrior) but it’s not in the game list. If you want to showcase the history of the genre it doesn’t get better then how everything started! Super Turbo is the definitive version used in competitions to this day, you should try and run it. I’ll definitely be there if it’s there :slight_smile:
