Interstellar (from the director of The Dark Knight Trilogy & Inception)

Spoiler

I’m surprised that Amelia and Cooper were so close in time. I’d have thought that Amelia would have had years and years before Cooper could have come back.

Oh well. I’m fine with that.

Since I haven’t watched this, and I don’t anything you guys are talking about in the spoilers, This movie isn’t getting spoiled for me. I guess I should watch this. I don’t know what you guys are talking about with plan A, plan B, and Brock Lesnar…

Way to ruin the surprise

Spoiler

noooo plan A worked. with coopers experience in the 5th dimension he was able to give murph the equation to solve anti gravity

is that timeline official? its a very good decision to get that out if it is

Spoiler

one thing I disagree with in the time line is that 23 years for Romilly, when they landed on gargantua the time seemed like only a few minutes and not hours. it being a few minutes adds an unpredictable dimension to the story because cooper was paying attention to every minute during that time and was completely shocked to hear 23 years had past. I hope it isn’t official because it would negate a unique spin in that chapter. it also would set up for a visual calculation of the events after giving the audience more interactivity for the rest of the film instead of passive participation (sorry for sounding more complex than needed, but whatever lol)

I kind of wished he ended more like Inception or Prestige. Like the final act kept going and everything was basically laid out for you, the Tesseract, leaving cooper station and finding Brand. I’m still split on whether I really liked it or if it was too bloated.

Some amazing space porn shots though.

ahh that makes sense its not official, its by a redditer. its very close though

[details=Spoiler]I disagree that “They” are humans from the future. it was realised by cooper that “They” are “Us” and the thing that brought him there was more to do with an inner sense than future beings placing a time bubble there. none of the planets were habitable so how did “They” survive in order to meddle with the past? its just plain wrong. it makes sense that our “Destiny” our “Inner sense” guided us into a place deep in space to help us realize a way to solve our problem.

that whole “Future They” is three dimensional thinking lolz well fourth dimensional thinking, actually[/details]

Kip thorne. famous physicist and scientific advisor for the film claims everything is scientifically correct in the film apart from [details=Spoiler]ice cloud was the only violation of science[/details]

I saw the film last night on a cheap ticket. It was great, and beautifully-shot. Nolan’s most emotionally-driven movie to date. I like the acting done by MM, Anne, and even Bill Irwin’s TARS (such a cool robot. Why there isn’t an action figure for this, along with CASE, is beyond me). Zimmer’s score was bombastic at times (which makes some dialogues inaudible), but it was nicely crafted.

If I were to rank this amongst Nolan’s other work, it’ll be like this:

  1. Memento
    2) Interstellar
  2. Inception
  3. The Dark Knight
  4. The Dark Knight Rises
  5. Batman Begins
  6. The Prestige
  7. Following
  8. Insomnia

Also, there’s supposed to be an audio interview between Neil deGrasse Tyson and Nolan. Once that’s made public, I’ll post it here.

How anyone could put dark knight rises above batman begins smh

i would. BB wasnt all that in retrospect.

Yea but while BB is just a good movie, DKR was just plain awful.

Haven’t seen insterstellar yet but umm… I always considered Batman Begins as the best film by Nolan , so eerrrrr yeah !
