Interesting bug in the new patch (XBOX)

I just noticed this, and only intend to post this here and at Tekkenzaibatsu, as it is something Microsoft will IMMEDIATELY remove when/if they find it out…

What is the bug? Well…

With the patch installed -> YOU CAN PLAY ONLINE WITH A SILVER ACCOUNT <-

I’m sure pretty much everyone playing the game has Gold, so this might be useless to most, and also why no-one has noticed it. I bought a Gold account from an auction myself to play Tekken, but haven’t gotten it yet.

For some reason I started screwing around with the online anyway, to look at the interface. Well, to it did not at any point start whining about needing Gold (before the patch it did, as obviously is intended), and to my shock I got to an online match and it worked all the way through…

Someone I know debunked this already.

It was probably fixed.

I have been playing it ever since I posted that message, and even got 2 achievements. I’m in Europe, though, so the patches might be different in different areas.

EDIT: Yep, played a match right now, still works. I even went and checked that they haven’t messed up my profile somehow, but nope it still says Silver there.

and still does for me… Well, better wait for some other European to try it, otherwise I guess it is just my profile then.

I believe there’s some microsoft promotion going on right now for silver accounts to play online for free…gonna try to see if I can find that article on it.

EDIT: Nevermind. unless you’re in Europe silver accounts are free at the moment. Otherwise it’s passed for us.

LOL, well that explains it… I sure haven’t read about that anywhere. Oh well, false alarm, at least I can play until I get the Gold :wink:

Game patches have to get microsoft approval before it gets released , i doult they would let somthing like that slip thru :stuck_out_tongue:

Damn. They should let silver accounts play all fighting games online for free.

wtf certain accounts can only play certain games online? and on top of that you have to pay for them?

No. Silver is free. Anyone can have one. You can use the XBox live Marketplace, have access to dlc, updates, demos, and messaging and junk. Just can’t play online. Gold you pay for and it lets you play online.
