After playing on an LS40 for a few days, I’m starting to think I may end up needing this to enjoy my JLF’s and Hayabusa.
LOL, why is that? Just fell in love with it?
Alright I haven’t been on in a while not up to date but what the heck is the Hayabusa? I see that there is universal in the title and people are talking of it’s glory.
Can someone explain what makes the Hayabusa different towards the JLF, Crown, or LS Series?
Just need to fill in what the hype is about.
Hayabusa is a new Hori lever that was released in the Fighting Edge. It’s a good stick, it’s nearly fully compatible with JLF parts. That’s the gist of it. I did some laser cut custom gates for the LS-56 and wanted those same options for Hayabusa, but didn’t want to do laser cut again. Since this will cost money to do, and since Hayabusa and JLF are so close in compatibility, this project ended up being JLF/Hayabusa at first. But then I added a good bit of Seimitsu compatibility to the custom gate, so this is turning into a universal solution that started off for 1 stick.
Ah I see, just interchangeable parts.
So in a nutshell, you can have the same feel from a Seimitsu by swapping parts, same feel from a JLF by swapping parts, and leaving it stock to have the Hori Lever.
I’m assuming this can reduce costs significantly for people who want to try out other sticks just by swapping out parts.
Kind of. The gate is more like like a base that lets you choose what type of restrictor you want, octagonal, square, circle, 4 way, and it fits on a large variety of sticks. Some of these sticks don’t have these options, and some do, but this allows all of them to share the options and you can buy one and use it on another stick if you decide to change sticks in the future.
The short throw, my others feel like the throw is huge now. Nothing I can’t deal with, but it feels odd.
I actually have to take throw measurements in the next day or two for the project, I’m curious how different the throws actually are between the sticks. I hope it’s not negligible, then I’ll be all like SMH.
I’m thinking what many would consider to be “negligible” by looking at the numbers is actually pretty noticeable when you’re using a sick.
Agreed. .5mm can mean the world.
Quick update: I’ve gone through 3 revisions so far in the design process.
All right, so after 3 revisions here is the basic layout of the base. The snap in system isn’t ready to be shown but I thought I’d at least show this so far.

Bottom up
Can you guess which holes are for which sticks??
Of course, this is still subject to change, but I thought I’d share a little progress here.
Man that’s a lot of holes, haha. Looking good, though!
Larger recessed holes JLW?
Looking good!
The elongated holes combined with the rectangular ones are obviously JLF.

And when combined with a set of screw holes and not the rectangular ones, Hayabusa
Did a 4th revision earlier this morning. I think I’m done with revisions. Time to work on the snap in system.
Can’t wait to see the final product. I’m in for a handful when they’re ready.
I tried this already. Good luck. Check out my responses herehttp://forums.shoryuken.com/t/interest-check-multi-gate-4-gates-in-1-plate/167060/9

Your design was a hell of a lot different, to be fair.

Actually, not quite the same.
You tried to put all JLF gates onto one single restrictor.
What Moonchilde is doing here is putting a single gate-style onto all joysticks.
