Instant Air Jaguar Kick

Pressure.
Block string -> ex-IAJ is nice.

Floats over any low kicks.
Breaks focus since it’s two hits.
Comes out fast.
Safe on block.
Knockdown on hit.

Does anyone know the exact frame advantage/disadvantage after an IAJK?

what is gief’s SPD motion? simply uf f df d db b ub u ?
or there is a special motion?

SPD motion is just a half circle motion in either direction continued on to either up-forward or up-back.

So b, db, d, df, f, uf + P or f, df, d, db, b, ub + P

Anyone have a working link for this video? Looks like a good watch.

You can actually hit with just a lk IA jk and get a real nice reset off it.

If you FADC a Rising Jaguar and aren’t going to follow it with U2, the best possible damage for a reset is cl.HK.

I could be wrong here, but it arguably depends on what you want from the reset though. While RJ FADC cl.HK is maybe more damage off the reset, every time I’ve tried it, it’s left them too far away to do much in the way of shenannigans. Like I could either jump straight at them or go for a meaty/throw but I just couldn’t manage to get any sort of crossup reset shenannigans going on.

That said, I haven’t tried LK IA-JK as a reset but if it leads to a better reset situation, it may be worth using in some situations, even if it means less initial damage?

It’s not much of a reset because there’s not much ambigious stuff you can do. You cant dash under or anything, they just air recover and that’s it. I just do a MK RJ for more damage (tad less stun tho).

Still having trouble with this. I’m certain it’s d,db,b,uf + k but I just have Adon jumping all over the place.

Doubles the damage (160 instead of 80), knocks down, hits twice, easier to cancel into from nj.mk because it comes out faster and comes out in place.

Hustleman, try this: :d: :uf: :qcb:+:k:

Do the QCB fast. You don’t actually need to hit the :d:, the only input you need is :db::l:+:k:

Also can follow up with U2 if only the first hit lands while opponent is jumping.

This method worked for me really well. Here’s what I learned.

You MUST use LK if you want to hit effectively. I use the U or UF to quickly df, d, db, b + LK to do the motion.

on a crouching Ryu, after hit you can:
EX TK
EX TK fadc Ultra (must be fast after the FADC, otherwise they are too low)
Sweep (tight link, must hit from really low off ground)
cr.MK or MP xx Super
Super

after counter hit you can also:
cr. HP xx Super
Super
U2

good fucking shit! yes, i tested all this and it works very well

you guys should learn the d, db, b, uf + k motion. its the most efficient method, and it gives you the best result.

other methods may seem easier at first but it wont give you the lowest and fastest possible instant air jaguar kick. take the time to learn the timing on the delayed kick. you will be greatly rewarded in the future with better execution and good habits.

This has been becoming more apparent the more the other method gives me the wrong spacing. Delaying the kick is so hard though!!!

ugh, TK JKicks are hard… timing is very strict.

i find the timing being the same as Cammys delayed TK CStrikes, but with Cammy if you do it sooner nothing wrong happens (you perform a quick TK CStrike instead).

with Adon… mess it up and you end doing an ugly fw jumping lk.

i have tryed to perform it with full circular backward stick motion from down to upforward with better results, but still not consistent at all :frowning:

The motion/input seems extremely reminiscent to Mishimiya’s EWGF inputs (with the delayed input). (sorry for referencing T6).

Hey,

I posted this in the video thread. but wanted to make sure that everyone gets to see it. It’s just a quick little tutorial showing how I use the ia jk

Unless one masters the IAJK to come EXTREMELY low, its not worth it. Most characters can evade it crouching and then punish you big time. Im still gonna try the 2,3,6,9 method to see how fast the TK will come.
