Input Lag?

Wanted to know whether anyone has tested (or can test) different versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to see where the HD versions, particularly the PS3 one, stack up in terms of input lag. I know that there were issues with HD Remix, and I?m hoping that PS3 owners didn?t get Backboned again.

do you mean online?

personally PSN is unplayable online because of massive input lag. The input lag seems to vary by user though so keep that in mind.

XBL mvc2 was the one I’d rather play on (even though it has some native lag issues that you don’t even need to be online for). XBL plays closest to DC marvel

I’m still salty they just couldn’t get the ports right. I hate both next gen marvels compared to DC marvel (DC marvel just feels natural). but the DC is just a POS, there’s all those blue screen problems, I can’t find a stick for DC, etc. etc. It would’ve been so awesome if they got the ports right :frowning:

Nah, I mean offline. Online is always going to have extra input lag obviously.

well PS3 is not arcade/DC perfect (XB360 is closer). not sure whether it’s lag or not. I haven’t tested but it always seemed like there might’ve been lag. for example, magneto’s wall carry ROM variation is hard to get on PS3 for some reason (though I can do it well enough on XB360 even online)

Well u can always emulate a DC and if it’s on a beefy PC you should be able to get a perfect frame rate. I know I set a buddy up with it awhile ago and it runs great and has no blue screen issues. Since it’s pc I think pretty much any arcade stick can be made to work as well. Tourney marvel could go that route eventually…

To the original question:

ps3 marvel has almost no latency lag whatsoever vs 360 which is very dependent on your respective location to your opp… so it’s a trade off on whichever. The input lag makes some combos harder to hit but you wont experience teleporting magnus or unblock-cable very often either.

Overall the netcode for both isn’t great but is passable given that on either system… In most cases you can hit any combo in matches that is doable in training… but… for both systems there are a few that don’t work that used to work on DC. So to me it’s less a failing of netcode and more of the port itself.
