Uhhhhhh.weird question about Doomsday’s super, since he makes 2 clean holes through the earth that end in the ocean, would the ocean start draining into the core of the earth?
So glad to see another Over-The-Top super that’s actually…well, over-the-top. The last few, with Aquaman aside, have been very underwhelming for a game consisting of the fighting of gods amongst men.
And a group of people thought they were cool for a journey to the center of the earth? Doomsday went for a brief visit round-trip, what makes them so special?
Still loves Sinestro’s super the best so far. Something about smashing someone with space rocks just seems so damn…final. Only way it could be more epic is if he smashed them between planets.
BTW I’m both happy and sad with the reveals. I’m happy WW’s rougues are getting more spotlight and Ares is a big one of hers; but I’m also sad because I wanted it to be Circe :(. She has more potential as a villain than Ares imo but I’m not really complaining. Ares is still cool and will no doubt have a completely nonsense super.
With Circe likely out I’m just waiting on Raven at this point. Oh and Doomsday looks rediculous! Did you guys see how many hits that super armor took? Good LORD! Cool that Bat’s and Supes have multiple villains in the game.
:)) =)) ^:)^ that super is by far the most outrageous and hilarious shit i’ve seen all year. doomsday looks BEAST. beyond just a heavy but more of a bruiser. armor, shoulder, divekick(?), METEOR SMASH, gief splash, ground grapples, anti-air grapples, ground pound…this character is BULLY. i typically don’t care for things like soundtracks or themes in fg’s most times, but his theme sounds like something serious is about to go down. this game just keeps looking better and better. EXCELLENT WORK NRS! =D> :-bd
i’m just gonna go ahead and make a bold claim right now…Injustice for best fighting game of 2013 (albeit, there probably won’t be that many this year anyway haha we’ll see)
I also noticed Cap Marvel had Super Armor as well. This game may set the record for how many characters possess it.
And I’m the same with this reveal. Like Ares, but I wanted to see Cheetah or Giganta get in. I knew the latter was highly unlikely, but I thought Cheetah had a good chance as a Gadget Rushdown. Eh, maybe there’s hope with DLC.
As for best Super, I gotta give that to Doomsday. It brings up the Hulk argument which I always consider a good thing. Second goes to Hal. Don’t like him as the Top Lantern, but whenever you smash someone with a giant sledgehammer, crush 'em between buses then blow 'em up with missiles & jets, you’re going hard in this game.
what is wrong with more characters? i swear you people are just hard to please. I enjoyed what I say and what doomdays can do. While I must admit he somewhat similar to Bane. I’m sure their be enough distinction to make them different. I mean we do have like 6 character in SF series who pretty much the same with subtle difference and yet people adore their sf characters.
The character is so bland to begin with, they gave him more moves than he’s ever had comic wise and he still looks generic.
More characters are fine if they are good characters, I’d rather have a smaller, more interesting cast than a bloated one with to much similarity. Throwing out the SF reference is pretty stupid. This is a SF dominated site, if you weren’t a fan of it you wouldn’t have signed up. Besides not all of us hold onto that Capcom nutsack as evident by a multitude of stuff, but whatever you wanted to use a stupid joke.
I’m not giving Injustice blind praise when it has issues, I will give praise when something good is shown which is pretty much everything else. Doomsday is bland as fuck, doesn’t offer the cast anything new, and is only shoehorned in to get the few people who remember Mullet Superman and his death to buy a copy before ultimately trading it in.
All characters are, are skins over hitboxes. Draw inspiration from wherever, doesn’t really matter. In the end it’s on the creators to deliver on the movesets. If the movesets suck, it’s on the creator, no one else. Look at Hal and Sinestro. The inspirations in theory should devise GRAND movesets in no way similar and be some of the most diverse abilities we’ve seen in FG’s. Instead Hal at the least is just as bland as Doomsday and Sinestro only has one move of actual variety.
Creators are to blame if the inspiration falls flat. Even if the inspiration is flat themselves creators can make great movesets if they really wanted to.
Doomsday super was awesome. Other than that, none of his moves stood out to me. Like somebody said, looked like a mix of Grundy and Bane. I guess we’ll see how different they are.
It doesn’t matter if this is a SF dominated site, his comment was very valid. Just because you like something doesn’t mean you have to love every stupid thing they do.
I honestly have no idea where you are going with this, seems like nonsensical rambling.
This is a property, you cannot suddenly change a character outside of what they are supposed to do. They are not just skins over hitboxes, they have a background and a specific power set that must be utilized in a way that makes sense for a fighter. This has always been the case and guidelines need to be followed so the spirit of the character stays intact.
The way you are putting it is if Batman is boring, then it isn’t his fault it is the people making the game for not giving him flight and tornado fists cause that is super cool. Or not expanding on what he can do despite him having limitations.
Hal and Sinestro have interesting move sets, they do cool shit with their rings. Nothing over the top outside of the Supers and that is how it should be. 'Cause you know, they are trying to make a balanced fighter.
Doomsday wasn’t interesting to begin with, the people designing this game did their best to give him something and it shows. But he still looks run of the mill.
Clearly you ignored everything after that, and a petty insult is never valid when there is issues. Doomsday is bland, why would I want a bland character in? Why should anyone be thankful that it had a bigger cast due to that? Give me someone interesting and varied instead. You know, like Martian Manhunter who is most likely paid DLC at this point.
Also I said he looked like a mix of Grundy and Bane, read everything before rushing out to post next time sir.
Nah, I just think he is very limited to begin with and NetherRealm wasn’t allowed the creative freedom of say, Capcom in the early 90’s on Marvel titles (Back when Marvel didn’t give a fuck and Capcom didn’t suck).
Doomsday has three major powers: He is really strong, really tough, and when he is killed and regenerates that same tactic cannot be used to kill him again.
There isn’t much you can do with the first two, especially if DC is leashing you creatively. NetherRealm did about as much as I figured they would and it shows, just isn’t enough to differentiate him from Grundy and Bane who both have other cool mechanics (Grundy can chain grapples, Bane can shoot Venom for added abilities).
The last power can’t even work realistically. “It seems you won the round with a combo into Super, good luck having that work again. Rematch?” Although it would be extremely funny, it’d also end up being silly as hell.
None of the trailer music they have used so far has actually been in the game.
That said, what ever is in the game, will be very low volume, just like MK9. I think one of the sound designers pissed in Boons coffee or something.
I really enjoyed Doomsday, it looks like a nice big rushdown character, his shoulder charge and elbow drop look great. Him and Grundy are both nice takes on big dudes, not sure where Bane lies in all this, they really didn’t do a good job of showcasing him.
