You’d think they’d learn their lesson from MK9…guess not. I don’t want shit to go down where we don’t even know some of the characters by release (or you know, leaked release aka a week or two before the official release).

There’s no lesson to learn, this is their intent. About 6 playable characters existence were never even (officially) acknowledged prior to MKs release, and that’s disregarding the 10 or so who only got mentioned in a magazine or beat up in someone else’s trailer.

I don’t care if I’m in the minority on this, but I LIKE the idea of devs not telling us everything, or rather, every character. And I can see even bigger reason for not telling if they really want this to be big on story. What if some character who shows up in the story is supposed to be a big surprise? Hard to do that if you already know that character is playable in the game. Plus, I like surprises. Figuring out the extra color code in Skullgirls was some of the most fun I had with non ingame, game related stuff. I even made my own puzzle to hunt a cheat code.

I agree with you as far as secrets are concerned. There will always be secrets with the NRS guys, it’s pretty much been their calling card since MK1. However, I would still like to see a steady stream of new content to build hype until release day. I don’t even care who/what it is at this point. I already have Nightwing, Harley, and everyone else I wanted confirmed (save for one New 52 character who has no chance of getting in). Give us SOMETHING to get hyped about, Netherrealm!

Except all this shit will come to light in bright neon letters either on here or any other FGC site and hell even most gaming sites a couple of weeks before release.

Except he actually IS trained in Hand to Hand though he’s not a martial arts savant like Nightwing and Batman…but that doesn’t matter. Supes wasn’t trained in hand to hand either and yet he got by just fine due to his power. Lex has his suit.

When did he learn the 2 Kryptonian Martial Arts then? I thought that was established in Silver Age…but I don’t follow his story that closely.

Even if there was no story mode, people would still ask this question, its because Superman is in the game, and the public has some insane perception that Superman is some invincible immortal and basically a walking god who no one can oppose.

He has no business losing fights in which it was previously established he has immunity to said attack/element.

Cosign. The internet diminished the art of surprise. I appreciate NRS still keeping a tradition that most major game developers lost. I LIKE secret characters, codes, movesets that remain secret weeks/months after release. The discovery of Reptile & Akuma in the 90’s rocked the community, and the fact that it wasn’t easy to achieve made it more epic.

I would actually be happy with his reveal, because even though we have assumed he was in since the begging, we have a lot less to go on than characters that have been actually named, as all we have to go on is the ice beam shot at Flash, which while common sense dictates that it should be Cold, it technically could be any ice user. As a fan of his it would be a relief to finally find out conclusively if he is in or not. But that is all IMO of course.
